Gods group thoughts for 5/09/2012 “Don’t be Turned Away from Heaven”

Matthew 12:49… And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!”  (NKJV)

These words spoken by Jesus, came right after someone had told Jesus that His mother and step brothers were outside trying to get through the crowds of people to speak to Jesus… Jesus went on to say this, in…Matthew 12:50… “For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”  (NKJV)  …I believe this is where Christians today consider those that are part of their church body (the body of Christ), their “brother” and their “sister” in Christ…

These words used by Jesus for someone who “does the will of My Father in heaven”, were used here by Jesus to describe a person who is a Christian in His Father’s eyes (God’s), not just the persons own mind…  Jesus tells us that becoming a Christian; means a sinner has to turn from their own will, and do the will of God the Father… This is a very good description for repenting of one’s sins…  The un-repentant sinner, (headed for hell if they die in their sins…John 8:24), has to turn from their own self righteousness will, filled with wanting to sin…to the will of God, which for them is a new will to live the way God wants all of us to live…

The sinner’s dead heart and mind that can’t understand God’s will is for them, must be given some life by the Holy Spirit; and then will they realize that they are indeed a sinner in need of the Savior, Jesus Christ…  The blinds Satan has been using to keep the sinner chained to Satan’s life in the world of sin and shame will be taken off by the Holy Spirit, by convicting the sinner of their shameful sins… The gospel of Christ must then be understood and obeyed to become a Christian (Thessalonians 1:8-9)…

This new will of God that fills the sinner’s heart and mind, will lead to turning from and repenting of one’s sins; as the sinner seeks Jesus Christ to be their Lord, their Master, and their Savior…  God will see the heart and mind that have truly been changed, after the 4th seed towards salvation is planted… Jesus teaches us this, in His parable of the soils found in… Matthew 13:1-23… This planted seed comes by either reading God’s Word, or by the hearing of the gospel of Jesus Christ…

This 4th type of planted seed results in a regenerated heart, mind, and soul…and a new birth occurs as the sinner becomes a new creature in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and the new Christian becomes a child of God…

Any sinner’s mind that has been made alive by the Holy Spirit, without the heart being filled with the love of Christ…I liken to the 2nd seed or the 3rd seed that Jesus teaches us about, in His “Parable of the Soils”; that follows right after the opening scripture, in…Matthew 13:1-23…  Here is the link for the entire parable of the soils…     http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=mat%2013:1-23&version=NKJV

The second and the third seeds planted, produced a mind that sees the need to repent and turn from one’s sins…but there is no change of the sinner’s heart that needs to take place; so these seeds never develop into a Christian, for two totally different reasons… I spent 7 days writing about Jesus’ teaching on the parable of the soils and the 4 seeds, from 3/15 to 3/21/2012…  I have grouped them into one e-mail for anyone interested…

We see the exact same requirement for a person to do “the will of My Father in heaven”, preached by Jesus as a warning that is not being fulfilled by people who believe that they are Christians, when they are NOT  in God’s eyes… Jesus teaches us in this warning, that all the self-righteous works done in the name of the Lord (like going to church every week), will give the Lord no choice but to turn these “want to be Christians” away from heaven’s gates when it is too late, unless they repent and do God’s will…

There is no place called Purgatory, as is believed by the same churches that preach good works done for the Lord are required to be forgiven of one’s sins… This non-biblical belief is rejected by Jesus Himself, in the scripture to follow…  Here is a link about the history of Purgatory…  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purgatory

Matthew 7:21-23…  “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’  (NKJV)

I write these words of truth out of my love and concern for those around me that might not know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior… I pray this scripture is used by God, to awaken those who He does not yet know as His children, to the need that they must obey the gospel of Jesus Christ to be forgiven of their sins, and deemed a Christian in God’s eyes, not just their own minds…

Heavenly Father, I pray that this scripture from Your Word would be used by You, to open eyes that will lead to regenerated hearts and lives…as new additions are added to Your family… I pray Lord, that all of Your children would be given an urge by You to step up to the plate…become filled with the Holy Spirit again, (if they are less than being totally controlled by the Holy Spirit)…and then share their own testimonies and/or the gospel of Christ to those around them in need…  All we can do Lord, is to be faithful servants for You by planting multiple seeds that only You can grow into new children for Your family… I pray for all hearts and lives to be moved by You into doing Your will, as we all focus our attention on living a life that will be pleasing to You…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
