Gods group thoughts for 5/21/2012 “Peace Beyond Mortal Understanding !!”

John 1:10-11He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him(NKJV)

Everyone born into the worldtoday, is born and then classified right along with everyone around Jesus, who never received Him; because they have never believed in Jesus as their personal Lord, their Master, and their Savior…

His own, in the opening scripture, probably refers to the Jewish people, who were the ones screaming “Crucify Him”, as Jesus stood before Pontius Pilate, in…(Mark 15:13Luke 23:21)…&…John 19:6Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him,crucify Him! ” Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.”  (NKJV)

Scripture is not exactly clear on which of Jesus’ own disciples who didn’t even believe who Jesus was, until after His resurrection and appearance in the upper room… Becoming a Christian, when a sinner is filled with the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation…is what totally changes the life of a sinner, who has been living in the world, right along with Satan and his cronies…into a Christian who is then filled with the Holy Spirit…

The absolute power of the Holy Spirit can be seen with-in Jesus’ disciples (and all those who believed on Jesus), on the day of Pentecost; when God the Father (as Jesus had promised in…John 14:6), sent down the Holy Spirit from heaven, as a life long Helper for Jesus’ disciples (and Christian’s today), to teach us all things; and to help guide the lives of God’s children who choose to be filled with (controlled by) the Holy Spirit…Ephesians 5:18-20

As Christian’s, we can either place Christ at the very center of our lives, and benefit from all the supernatural help that the fullness of the Holy Spirit is capable of providing…or we can procrastinate by not living our lives for the Lord; believing that our ways are better than God’s ways (Isaiah 55:8-9)…  Anyone not totally controlled by the Holy Spirit, will remain struggling with the anger, the hate, the bitterness, and the sense of being bowled over by those around them…because they are living under their own power, and their own strength…

Just look at this one seemingly small, but OH so important benefit of  absolute peace, from being filled with the Holy Spirit… You just can’t imagine this incredible peace the Apostle Paul writes about in the following scripture…until you have experienced this peace first hand in your own lives…Philippians 4:7and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  (NKJV)

I was out walking at a CHD walk for little 4 year old Riley O’Brien last Saturday (he needs a heart/lung transplant); and had a chance to share with a friend, the personal peace that my sisters and I felt, as my niece Jennifer (at the age of only 39) was being buried next to her brother Benjamin (who was killed in a car crash at the age of 17) in upstate NY…  It will be two years ago this August…

By the way, here is little 4 year old Riley’s FB link – check out Riley’s support page here…  What a little trooper he is !!        https://www.facebook.com/Smile4Riley

This impossible peace without tears we had, can only come with the fullness of the Holy Spirit in a Christian’s heart and life… This supernatural peace of a Spirit filled Christian, goes beyond what our own feeble minds can comprehend…as the Apostle Paul so accurately states, in…Philippians 4:7…above…

The Apostle John continues on from the opening scripture, with…John 1:12But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:  (NKJV)

Believing in Jesus’ name (becoming a Christian); can only be accomplished by understanding and obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ… Sinner’s must turn from their sins and repent of them, as they seek Christ to take over their lives and become their personal Lord and Savior… There is nothing we can do to earn our way to heaven…no matter how good a person we believe we are… Salvation is a gift of God by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ…Ephesians 2:8-9…  It’s not about any righteous works done for the Lord, like going to church every week, or contributing large amounts of money to an offering plate…

Heavenly Father, I pray that You would reveal to those who are less than Spirit filled, that Christ and His love must fill the heart, mind, and soul…to be able to enjoy the supernatural peace, the joy, and all of the other fruit of the Spirit You promise to those who become one of Your children (Galatians 5:22-23)…  The Christian’s life is an ongoing daily struggle to stay filled with the Holy Spirit (1 John 1:9)…to be able to live a life with all the blessings and the help of the Holy Spirit You want all of Your children to obediently follow… I pray Lord, for this fullness of the Spirit to control all of our lives…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
