John 16:8-11“And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.”  (NKJV)

The opening scripture has Jesus promising His disciples, that after He goes to be with His father in heaven, God will send down the Holy Spirit as a permanent live-in Helper, to dwell with-in His disciples and all new Christians…John 14:16

All humans are born into, and live in the world of sin and shame, with Satan as their father (John 8:44)… All of us will sin (Romans 3:23), because Satan has blinded unbelievers to understanding the truth from God’s Word… This truth is that the gospel of Christ must be understood and obeyed, before a person is forgiven of their sins…and graced with the free gift of salvation by God, to become a Christian in God’s eyes…

2 Corinthians 4:4whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.  (NKJV)

All humans are spiritually dead in their sins… It is the Holy Spirit that convicts the sinner into understanding that they can in no way save themselves from eternal damnation… We see this in the opening scripture, and in the following scripture written by the apostle Paul, in…Ephesians 2:1-2And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, (NKJV)

This new life given to the dead heart of the sinner, is what Jesus describes as being “born again”, in…John 3:3Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”  (NKJV)  …This new live comes from God, through believing on Jesus Christ (obeying the gospel of Christ)…Ephesians 2:4-5But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),  (NKJV)

This grace of salvation, is a gift of God through faith alone in Jesus Christ, and cannot be earned by any righteous works done for the Lord, that we do on our own…Ephesians 2:8-9For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.  (NKJV)

The sinner must be drawn by God, and then they will be saved through faith alone in Jesus Christ, as the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is obeyed…John 6:44No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.  (NKJV)

To recap this sequence of becoming a Christian through saving faith in Jesus Christ, as best I can…  God draws the sinner to Himself…the Holy Spirit convicts the sinner that they need to come to Jesus Christ by turning from their sins…repenting of their sins…and seeking Jesus Christ to become their personal Lord, their Master, and their Savior… God, by His pure grace through this saving faith alone in Jesus Christ, imputes the righteousness of Christ into the heart, mind, and soul of the sinner (2 Corinthians 5:21); and they are given the gift of salvation by God, as they become a Christian in God’s eyes, a new child of God, and a new creation in Jesus Christ…  2 Corinthians 5:17

This sequence of becoming a Christian, as presented in the Bible…is contrary to what some churches preach as to how God forgives sins…  Being forgiven of a lifetime of sins cannot be achieved by any righteous works any church tells us that we must do (Isaiah 64:6)… Jesus warns us about being turned away from the gates of heaven, if we falsely believe these works done in the name of the Lord will forgive our sins…  Here is one of the most shocking pieces of scripture Jesus reveals in God’s Word, that I pray many eyes will read and understand…  Those that fail to understand this important scripture, will be separated from God at their death, and will spend an eternity in hell…

Matthew 7:21-23Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”  (NKJV)

Heavenly Father, I pray that You will open the eyes of all those in need of understanding this biblical sequence of becoming a Christian…as You draw these sinners to Yourself… I pray Lord, that hearts will be regenerated, and lives will be changed for an eternity…as seeds are planted through the gospel of Christ, that only You can grow into a new child of God…  I pray for this supernatural spiritual awakening by You for all of those in need, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

P.S.  The gospel of Christ is presented in the writing below, to plant the seed toward salvation for those who want to become part of God’s family; to be sure they are Christian’s in God’s eyes, and filled with the awesome power Holy Spirit…
