Gods group thoughts for 7/23/2012 “Pay Attention”

“Our Daily Bread”

Isaiah 55:8-9For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. (NKJV)

I often end my prayer at the finish of my daily writing, by praying for all believers to try and live in God’s will and God’s ways… Is this always easy to do ??  Heck no !!  All Christian’s…if we are totally honest with ourselves…will struggle after we are urged by the Holy Spirit to do one thing, and we just don’t want to listen at the time… When we decide to do things our way, instead of God’s way (knowing that we will be sinning)… we will be grieving the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30)…  This sin will be opening us up to possible chastising or scourging that God promises to use on His disobedient children (Hebrews 12:3-8), to try and bring them back into alignment with His will…

God tells us over and over in the Bible, that we must look to Him for all things, and He will direct us in His perfect path…Proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.  (NKJV)

When we as Christian’s go to the Lord in prayer (as we are suppose to do for all of our important decisions)…and the answer God gives us doesn’t seem reasonable, or possible, or the right thing to do…what should we do ??   We know by the opening scripture, that God’s ways and our ways are likely to be different… The easy, and always correct answer would be to always do as the Holy Spirit is leading you to do…assuming you are sure you are listening to Him by testing the spirits (1 John 4:1)…

I was listening to Dr. Charles Stanley yesterday, on the way to Sunday school and church…and he gave his testimony about how he followed God’s will, while he was in seminary…even though it was totally opposite to what he thought he should do with his life… And yet by faith, following what God was leading him to do, he was blessed beyond what his wildest imagination would have predicted for his life…

Charles Stanley’s message so touched me…that I have not only included it in this audible link for you to listen too…I also decided to write on this topic today… http://itm.edgeboss.net/download/itm/audio/radio/2012/itm20120721.mp3

Once we understand that God is sovereign (Proverbs 19:21); meaning that God is in control of everything…and that the Holy Spirit will lead us according to God’s will for us (Romans 8:27)…and that everything that happens to God’s children will work together for our good (Romans 8:28)…then following God’s will for our lives, is always going to be the right thing to do… End of conversation !!

Heavenly Father, help all of Your children to understand the truth found in Your Word today…  Help us to look past our inferior minds, and to always trust the leading of our Helper, the Holy Spirit that You have given to all Christian’s… I pray for this perfect Spiritual guidance in the lives of all of Your children…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
