2 Timothy 3:12Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.  (NKJV)

This opening scripture was written by the apostle Paul to his protégé Timothy, while Paul was almost at the end of his life, in a cold prison cell in Rome… Paul was arrested as part of Nero’s persecution of the Christian’s…and indeed, it was a tough time for Christian’s, because they were being crucified by Nero for their beliefs…  I wonder how many of us today, who call ourselves Christian’s, would not deny our Lord, even if it meant imminent death  ??   Cassie Bernall, a 17-year-old girl…was martyred for her faith, in the Columbine shooting, back in 1999…  Here is the link for this Christian’s story…  http://www.wogim.org/colmar.htm

Yesterday, I wrote about how some employees’ goof off, when their boss is not around… I showed what some would consider a humorous 1 minute video, depicting this very act of employees’ at their worst…after their boss had left the building… And how they all put on their straight faces and acted busy, when the boss came back into the building… I must say, if this was a real company…they sure were misbehaving when their boss was gone… Here is the link…      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeyMVfRTtGE&feature=related

I referenced scripture about this sin of cheating your employer; and made the comment that if you were a Christian…and you would still goof off the next time your boss left the building (after understanding God’s Word tells us that this is a sin)…then you really weren’t living for the Lord, like all Christian’s are called to do…

To become a Christian in God’s eyes…a sinner has to turn from their sinful ways…repent of their sins…and seek Jesus Christ to come into their hearts and lives to direct them…  But before they can become a Christian in God’s eyes…they have to love the Lord with ALL of their heart, ALL of their mind, and ALL of their soul… This was Jesus’ first and most important commandment, as recorded in…Matthew 22:36-40

The opening scripture, should cause each and every Christian to stop and think… The apostle Paul seems to be pretty bold in his stating, that ALL Christians, if they are living for the Lord…will suffer persecution… Thank goodness in the USA, we as Christian’s will hopefully never have to worry about being killed for our beliefs like Cassie Bernall…  But indeed, if we believe every word in the Bible…we cannot be living for the Lord, as a Spirit filled Christian…if we are not suffering some kind of persecution from those around us that are not believers…

Do you share your testimony and/or the gospel of Jesus Christ at EVERY opportune moment ??  If your living for the Lord as a Spirit filled Christian…the Holy Spirit will tell you when that moment has arrived…  If your wrong…and you get rejected like I have been…at least you know that you haven’t blown the chance to share your good news with someone in need… The Holy Spirit has kicked me in the butt more than once for not responding to His urging… I have learned that it is better to try and share your faith, and have it be a false alarm…than to not share, and have the Holy Spirit rebuke me for passing up the opportunity…

If you’re a Christian, and you’re not sharing your faith with those in need, I would say that you might need to spend more time in God’s Word…  Your fear is coming from Satan, because you are unsure of yourself and your capability… As I so often mention…God’s Word is the only offensive piece of the 6 piece set of the “Whole Armor of God”, that the apostle Paul writes about, in…Ephesians 6:10-20…  I was missing a key piece of this spiritual armor for years…Ephesians 6:15and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  (NKJV)

You cannot successfully share the good news of the gospel of Christ, until you are not only knowledgeable about exactly what the gospel of Christ is all about (the preparation of the gospel)…  You also have to have the absolute peace that being filled with (controlled by) the Holy Spirit will bring into the life of a believer…  You should then be able to carry the gospel to those in need; because you will have shod your feet with everything you need to share your faith… But the key is to rely on the Holy Spirit, and not your own strength…

Heavenly Father, I know from my own personal experience…that sharing the gospel of Christ is almost impossible, without the Holy Spirit  being in absolute control of the Christian’s life… Urge all Christian’s Lord…to learn about the spiritual armor You provide for protection from SatanEphesians 6:10-20… And then Lord…urge each one of Your children to systematically put on each of the 6 pieces of spiritual armor Paul writes about…  Help us Lord, to not only protect ourselves from Satan…but to also be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-20), who will boldly enable us to share the gospel of Christ…  Jesus has commanded all Christian’s to share the good news of the gospel, in…Matthew 28:19-20… I pray for this boldness to share with the full power of the Holy Spirit, for all of us…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
