Gods group thoughts for 8/26/2012 “God will not be Mocked”

The Daily Devotions of Greg Laurie

Titus 2:5to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.  (NKJV)

This opening scripture was written by the apostle Paul, to his protégé Titus…  Much like Timothy, Titus became a disciple of Paul’s…and was ministering to people on the island of Crete, when Paul wrote him this Epistle now known as the Book of Titus… Chapter 2 in this Book was written to instruct Titus on the qualities of a sound church…  It has suggestions for older men and older women, as to how to help their younger counterparts…

Today I am focusing on the last part of the opening scripture, about how all Christians should act, so as not to mock God…Galatians 6:7-8Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.  (NKJV)

True Christians have been called out of the world of sin and shame by God, and have become citizens of heaven; even as they continue to live among the sinners of the world…Philippians 3:20… The Christian’s heart has been filled with the love of Christ, as they receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit by being given Christ’s righteousness, in place of their forgiven sins…2 Corinthians 5:21… (This is accomplished by understanding and obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ – see link below)…

The apostle Peter has this to say about Christians, in…1 Peter 2:9But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; (NKJV)

Jesus Himself tells the believers this, in…Matthew 5:16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  (NKJV)

As a Christian, you are either living for the Lord, with your light shining brightly…or you have un-confessed sin in your life… I wrote yesterday about…1 John 1:9; and what a Christian must do to remain righteous in God’s sight…  Here is the link for my thoughts on how to “Put on Christ”, and finally live with absolute God given supernatural peace in your life (Philippians 4:6-7)…  https://godsmanforever.wordpress.com/2012/08/25/gods-group-thoughts-for-8252012-put-on-peace-as-you-put-on-christ/

God knows the heart of people He calls His children… And God sees the sinful heart of people who believe they are Christians, when they are mocking God by still living in sin…1 Samuel 16:7…  Sinners can easily fool those around them…but they cannot fool God…

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your Word would cut right to the soul like a two edged sword…of those people You don’t recognize as Christians, who are still living with un-confesses sin in their lives…[Hebrews 4:12For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  (NKJV) ]

I pray Lord, that today’s Word would change hearts and lives…so that he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”  I pray for these changes that only You can make…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…

P.S.  The gospel of Christ is presented in the link below, to plant the seed toward salvation for those who want to become part of God’s family; to be sure they are righteous in God’s eyes, and filled with the awesome power of the Holy Spirit…
