Gods group thoughts for 11/30/2012 “God Opens Doors”

Psalm 112:1 & 3…  Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments.Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.  (NKJV)

There is a natural tendency for most human beings to desire prosperity…  But there is a godly way to reach prosperity, and a man’s natural built in way…  There is also a different view of what prosperity really means, between those living in the world as unredeemed sinners…and those God has graced with the forgiveness of sins, and who are Christians in God’s eyes…

The unredeemed man’s first priority is himself and his family…  He may go to church, believing he is a Christian…but God does not really know him as His child…  (I wrote about this just yesterday)  The almighty dollar is top priority to him…  Being prosperous means having that nice house, and a new car to keep up the image; even if behind the scenes the debt just keeps piling up…

But once a person becomes a Christian, they become a new creature in Christ…2 Corinthians 5:17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (KJV)

The priority for the Christian should forever place God first, always trying to live a life that would be pleasing in His sight… And for the Christian to really please the Lord; they must totally submit to Him, relying on the Lord to lead them in the right way… The wise Solomon knew this all too well, when he wrote this, in…Proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.  (NKJV)

Today I write for any Christian who is struggling to find a job…or who is going through some other trial in their life; and who has lost the joy and the peace they once had…  Anxiety, frustration, anger, bitterness…and all the other signs of a heart that has lost the fullness of Christ’s love, is surely not the blessings this Christian is looking for…

I know this loss of joy and peace myself; because somehow in the 7 years after being graced with salvation…I had taken back control of my own life from the Holy Spirit…  I know how easy it can be to take one’s eye off of the Lord, thinking that we know better than God…  I believe the Wealth and riches written about in the opening scripture, aren’t in the form of money or material things…  Jesus tells us this, in…

Matthew 6:19-21“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  (NKJV)

Christians, who have taken their eye off of the Lord, will be grieving the Holy Spirit…Ephesians 4:30… Their God given peace and their joy will typically be gone from their lives… And their struggles to find a job…or to do well in school…or to succeed in whatever endeavor they attempt in their own strength, will be an uphill battle…

God wants to bless His children…  But God wants His children to be obedient… With God behind the Christian, doors we couldn’t even dream of opening in our own strength, God can open…Ephesians 3:20-21Now to Him who is able to do exceedinglyabundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.  (NKJV)

For the wayward or backsliding Christian…put Christ back into first place in your life…  Confess and repent of any sins that have kept you from living in the will of God (1 John 1:9)…  And let the power of the Holy Spirit take back total control of your life…  You just might be amazed at the doors that will open, as the Lord blesses you for your obedience…  But certainly…the love of Christ that again fills your heart, will bring absolute joy and a supernatural peace back into your life, that will absolutely surpass all of your mortal understanding…

Philippians 4:6-7Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  (NKJV)

Heavenly Father, help all of Your children to see the truth from Your Word…  Help us to humbly submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit… And Lord, help us to be the light and the salt of the earth that You have called us to become (Matthew 5:13-16)… I pray for Your loving grace for all of us, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
