Romans 6:17-18…   But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.  (NKJV)

Yesterday, I spent time explaining what the Apostle Paul meant, when he wrote that an unredeemed sinner was Satan’sslave of sin; and that obeying from the heartmeant that the unredeemed sinner must understand and obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, before God graces them with salvation…  But they must first be drawn in by God (John 6:44), and given faith by Him to understand that they are a sinner in need of the Savior, Jesus Christ…   Here is the link for yesterdays writing, for those who want to catch up…

We as Christians should want to please our Father in heaven, just like Jesus and the Apostle Paul… As a slave of righteousness, that the Apostle Paul writes about in the opening scripture, it’s not like we as Christian’s are forced to live in God’s will… We are given free will by God to choose to live for Him, or to choose not to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit God has given to all of His children…John 14:26

I believe the Christian must be fed by reading God’s Word on a regular basis (hopefully daily), in order to grow in their spiritual wisdom and maturity…  Jesus Himself tells us this, in…Matthew 4:4But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”  (NKJV)

The Apostle Peter has this to say about growing spiritually, by being fed by God’s Word, in…1 Peter 2:1-3Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.  (NKJV)

It is the Holy Spirit that will give us the desireto spend timereading the Bible… The more time the Christian spends reading their Bible…the more spiritual wisdom and knowledge they will acquire…  I find it helps to ask God for wisdom to understand what you are about to read in the Bible…The Apostle James writes this, in…

James 1:5If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.  (NKJV)

This process of sanctification, as the Christian grows and matures in their quest to become more “Christ like” as time passes, will bring the Christian to grow closer to the Lord…  It should become easier and easier to say no to our own fleshly desires, and Satan’s temptations… This is best explained by Jesus’ half brother James, in…

James 4:7-8a…  Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  (NKJV)

If we remain humble to the leading of the Holy Spirit with-in us…we should indeed became slaves of righteousness, by willingly living our lives with the sole purpose of bringing honor and glory to our Father in heaven…  Living for the Lord becomes a way of life that becomes a joy, not a burden for the Spirit filled Christian…

If you’re a Christian that is living in sin…turn back to God… What better time of the year than right now !!  Confess and repent of any and all sins…1 John 1:9…  And allow the full power of the Holy Spirit to take charge of your life…   Willingly with joy, become a slave of righteousness, as you live for the Lord…  God wants to bless His obedient children… The fruit of the Spirit that God gives to all Christians, will grow and mature; right along with the Spirit filled Christian who is obediently walking in the Lord’s will…  Love, joy, and peace…the big 3 of the 9 fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), will flood the heart, the mind, and the soul of the Spirit filled Christian…

The fullness of God will fill you His love which passes all knowledge (Ephesians 3:19)…give you an abundance of joy, even through life’s trials (2 Corinthians 8:2)…and provide a supernatural peace that goes beyond our mortal understanding (Philippians 4:6-7)…

Heavenly Father, my prayer is for You to awaken those Christians who have fallen back into the ways of the world… Help Your children understand that living for You will always result in a positive outcome; even though we may not always understand Your ways…Romans 8:28…  Help us Lord, to do our best to live in Your will for our lives… I pray for the love of Christ to fill all of our hearts, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
