Psalm 119:103-104How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104 Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way.  (NKJV)

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible… It has 176 verses, and is filled from start to finish with the psalmist’s praise about God’s Word; and how the psalmist has benefitted in so many ways by reading, meditating on, understanding, and then living by the Word of God…

God has given us His recorded inerrant Word, the Bible…which was finished by the Apostle John at the end of the first century A.D. with the Book of Revelation…  God’s Word is a living and powerful collection of 66 books, which will change the life of those who diligently spend time digesting the truth that God wants all people to understand… Hebrews 4:12-13

But the reality is that many people, for any number of reasons…will spend little or no time reading God’s instruction Book for godly living…  The psalmist, who wrote Psalm 119, was a believer for sure… We know this, because an unredeemed sinner (the natural man), won’t be able to understand what God will reveal to those who He has given the Holy Spirit as a lifelong Helper (John 14:26), at the time they are given God’s gift of grace through saving faith alone in Jesus Christ… Ephesians 2:8-9

The Holy Spirit teaches Christians, so that they understand “the deep things of God” (verse 10 below)… This was written about by the Apostle Paul, in…1 Corinthians 2:6-16…  Here is the link to this scripture…  http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=%201cor2:6-16&version=NKJV

The key scripture from this passage is…1 Corinthians 2:13-16These things we also speak, not in words which man’swisdom teachesbut which the HolySpirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the naturalman does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” Butwe have the mind of Christ.  (NKJV)

The Bible is foolishnessto anyone who is not a Christian in God’s eyes, because their minds have been blinded by Satan to seeing, hearing, caring about, or understanding the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…which God uses as the means of planting the seed toward salvation…   And only God can nurture this seed, planted through His Word, into one of His redeemed children… (Read the “The Parable of the Sower”, and note the 4th soil in…Matthew 13:3-23)

2 Corinthians 4:3-4But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.  (NKJV)

Satan is such a powerful, deceptive, evil force controlling those that don’t know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior… It is Satan’s mission to blind anyone who is not a Christian…and to keep them in his bonds of sin and shame, so as not to find the truth that will set them free, that God wants all of us to find from His Word…John 8:32…  And though Satan has lost the battle, when God graces His new child with salvation…Satan will continue to do everything in his power to keep the Christian from living for the Lord…

The last 5 days of audio sermons by Dr. Charles Stanley, have all been about Satan, the enemy of all human beings…  Here is the link for Dr. Stanley’s audio archive… http://www.intouch.org/broadcast/audio-archives   The more any of us knows about Satan, the god of this world of spiritual demons and darkness, the better off we will be… You don’t believe in Satan ??  Listen to Dr. Stanley…

Yesterday’s writing was titled…“Powerful Words”; and was all about the power that the Word of God has to open the blinded mind and the eyes of those in need of God’s saving grace, through the washing of regeneration by the shed blood of Jesus Christ…Titus 3:4-7 Go to www.Godsmanforever.wordpress.com  to read it…

And after the redeemed sinner has been justified by God’s grace…I wrote about how God’s Word must be read diligently, to allow God to protect the Christian by putting on piece by piece, God’s complete set of spiritual armor to fend off Satan’s attacks…Ephesians 6:10-20…  http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=eph6:10-20&version=NKJV

I know many Christians who are falling prey to Satan’s temptations to sin…  Most of them admit that they spend little or no time reading the Bible…  But those Christians that are walking in sweet fellowship with the Lord as Spirit filled Christians…understand the need to be fed spiritually by God’s Word every day…Matthew 4:4…   I believe this is the best way (along with constant prayer1John 1:9), for the Christian to remain focused on the Lord, and to walk worthy of the grace that God has bestowed upon them…

The Christian, who is totally submitted to the Lord day in and day out, is the Christian that God will shower with His richest blessings…and who Satan will decide to flee for easier victims…James 4:7-8Therefore submit to God. Resist the deviland he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will drawnear to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.  (NKJV)

Friends, these aren’t just words on a page…they are a promise from God that I can personally attest to…  Satan is no match for the Christian fully suited up in God’s spiritual armor…who allows the full power of the Holy Spirit to fight all of their daily battles…

Heavenly Father, I for one am so very thankful for Your Word…  I pray Lord that all Christians will be able to find Your promises of a fleeing Satan, through the awesome power of the Holy Spirit…   I pray Lord, that Your children will see the benefit of daily feeding upon Your Word, along with constant prayer…and the sweet fellowship that can be experienced by total submission to the Holy Spirit… I pray for this fullness of Christ for all of us, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills

Excellent post! I appreciate how you include links that have inspired you, as well as your ‘confession’ that you present God’s Word and your thoughts, instead of merely a ‘thus saith the Lord’ fashion. I believe we, as Christians, can sometimes allow ourselves to be blinded because of pride; I’ve been there. One of my prayers is that the Lord would continually open my eyes and ears to help me see and hear and understand. Thank you for visiting my blog and introducing yours!
