Acts 1:8…  “But you shall receive power when the HolySpirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”  (NKJV)

The early church fathers have agreed that the Book of Acts was written by Luke, a good friend of the Apostle Paul’s…  Luke was a detail oriented physician (Colossians 4:14); and the opening scripture recorded by Luke, was Jesus’ last words before Jesus ascended into heaven, to sit at the right hand of His Father…Acts 1:9…  Luke pens Jesus’ words you shall,in speaking about receiving the power of the HolySpirit…as well as the command that Jesus’ disciples shall be witnesses to share the gospel message to the end of the earth.”

The Christian should have absolutely no doubts about the awesome power of the HolySpirit, that God has given them as a life long Helper, on the day God graced the Christian with salvation…John 14:26

The Apostle Paul pens this verification for the Christian, in…Romans 8:15-16For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The SpiritHimself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, (NKJV)

God’s Word is living and powerful…and will cut right to the soul of those God wants’ to awaken to the fact that they just might not have the awesome power of the HolySpirit residing with-in them…  The writer of Hebrews pens the following scripture, describing how God’s Word can open the eyes of those in need, in…

Hebrews 4:11-13Let u s therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyonefall according to the same example of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there isno creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom wemust giveaccount(NKJV)

Anyone being convicted (possibly by the Holy Spirit), to read more about what the Bible clearly reveals is necessary to become a Christian in God’s eyes…can go back and read 2 days of writing about false Christian faith (5/24/2013…&… 5/25/2013), by going to www.Godsmanforever.wordpress.com  and entering these dates as shown, into the search window…

Being filled with the Holy Spirit at the moment the new believer becomes a Christian in God’s eyes…and remaining filled with (controlled by) the Holy Spirit…are two different things…  The Apostle Paul writes about being filled with the Holy Spirit, to the backsliding Ephesians, in the following scripture…

Ephesians 5:18-20And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our LordJesusChrist,  (NKJV)

It is the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit, that gives the believer the capability of giving thanksalways for all thingsfor both the blessings and the trials of life…James 1:2-4…  It is the fullness of Christ, with the full power of the Holy Spirit…which gives the Christian absolute joy, when the Christian is walking in the Spirit… John 15:11…&…Jude 1:24…  It is the full power of the Holy Spirit, which gives the Christian a supernatural peace, which goes beyond our mortal understanding…Philippians 4:6-7(even at times where there should be no peace)…  And it is the full power of the Holy Spirit that the Apostle Paul writes about…that allows the Christian to know the love of Christ, which passes our mortal knowledge, in…

Ephesians 3:16-20that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, tobestrengthened with might through HisSpirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passesknowledge; that you may befilled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedinglyabundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, (NKJV)

Friends, it will be the Christian who spends time (hopefully daily) feeding on God’s Word (Matthew 4:4), that is energized and fully empowered by the Holy Spirit…who will be capable of effectively sharing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ (which All Christians have been commanded to share), with those around them in need of hearing the truth from God’s Word…John 8:32

The aging Apostle Peter puts it this way, in…1 Peter 3:15But sanctify the LordGodin your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you areason for the hope that is inyou, with meekness and fear; (NKJV)

When the Christian gets out of their own way…and allows the Holy Spirit to control their heart, their mind, and their soul…He will give them the power, along with the right words, at the right time…to share the “good news” of the gospel of Jesus Christ with those around them in need…

Living under the awesome power of the HolySpirit…once the maturing Christian tastes and sees (Psalm 34:8) the blessings that walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16) will bring into their lives…will become a way of life that will bring the Christian closer and closer to God…and have Satan looking for easier victims to devour…

James 4:7-8, 10Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Drawnear to God and He will drawnear to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.  (NKJV)

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your Word will work in the hearts and the minds of all of us…to help each of us with our own particular needs…  I pray Lord, that each of us will be urged to confess and repent of our sins…1 John 1:9… So that we may ultimately be walking in sweet fellowship with You on an consistent basis…  I pray for this fullness of Christ in all of our hearts, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills
