Mark 10:45…  “For even the Son of Man did not come to beserved, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”  (NKJV)

Each and every Christian has been called out of this world of sin and shame by God’s pure grace (Ephesians 2:8-9)…  They have died to self (their old way of life)…2 Corinthians 4:10-12…and they have been re-born as new creatures in Christ… 2 Corinthians 5:17…    Here is a link further explaining what “dying to self” is all about, for those who want to read more about it…   http://www.gotquestions.org/dying-to-self.html

Since all Christians have been called to be conformed into the image if Christ (Romans 8:29)…passionate service to God, followed by serving others, is what living as an obedient disciple of Christ is all about…  Christians go from being a bondservant of Satan, to being a bondservant of the Lord…  The Apostle Paul was a bondservant of Christ (Romans 1:1), as so was the Apostle James (Jesus’ half brother)…James 1:1…  But all Christians are called to be bondservants of Jesus Christ…

How many of us who call ourselves Christians, have a passion to serve the Lord ??  There should not be one single Christian, who has been filled with the Holy Spirit by God at the time they were saved (John 14:26), who is not serving the Lord in some way, shape, or form…  Every believer is called to serve the Lord in ways that will bring Him honor and glory…  Christians, who are Walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16), have this passion to serve the Lord that is given to them by the Holy Spirit…  It should never be a chore or unpleasant to serve the Lord…

Every Christian is called to be part of a church, which is part of the body of Christ…Hebrews 10:24-25…   Believers are all given at least one spiritual gift, which is to be used help the church function as one unified body for Christ…Ephesians 4:11-16

Christians will give all kind of excuses as to why they are not serving the Lord…  But there is no excuse in the eyes of God, for not serving the Lord in some way…  Speaking of eyes, I am reminded of my friend Bill Sweeney, who writes a blog for the Lord, that he titles…“Unshakable Hope”…  Bill has ALS; and the only part of his body he can move are his eyes…  Bill uses special equipment linked to his eyes, to type one letter at a time in order to write his blog…  You can read about Bill, and find a link to his amazing blog that he uses to glorify God, even through his terminal illness…by going to www.Godsmanforever.wordpress.com and typing 7/04/2013 into the search window…

The inspiration and the hope that Bill gives me, I pray will spread to all of us who find excuses for not serving the Lord…  Your service for the Lord may only be helping to keep your church clean, or to help keep the grass cut…  But God sees and knows the heart of each and every one of us…1 Samuel 16:7…  All of God’s children should pray to the Lord, in search of help in finding their spiritual gifts and how best to serve the Lord…

I am reminded of a days writing that I titled…“Getting Plugged in !!”…that was written to expound on spiritual gifts; and why all Christians should find a Bible believing and teaching church; and then use their spiritual gifts to help the church become a unified body of Christ…  You can go to the web site above and read more, by typing 1/19/2013 into the search window…

Heavenly Father, urge all of Your children to search their own hearts, to determine if You are still first and the most important Person in their lives…  If not Lord, help us to confess, repent, and turn from any and all sins…1 John 1:9…  Help all of Your children Lord, to rekindle the love that we had for You when we were first graced with salvation…Ephesians 3:17-20…  And then Lord, fill us with this passion that only You can provide, to serve You in every way that we are able…  I pray for this fullness of Christ in all of our lives, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills

P.S.  The inspiration for today’s writing came from Dr. Charles Stanley’s 20 minute audio sermon for 7/06/2013, that he titled, “A Passion to Serve Him – Part 1”, that can be listened to by going to… http://www.intouch.org/broadcast/audio-archives
