Psalm 7:8…  The Lord shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me(NKJV)
I have been tweeting back and forth with a professed atheist (one who does not believe that God exists) for the last couple of days…  He responded to my “plea for help”-tweet () that was posted on August 1st…for financial help (or at least prayer), for my little 5 yr old friend, Riley O’Brien…who has recently been through a rare heart/lung transplant…
The O’Brien family of 4, is still in dire need of a blessing from above, or from you…for the family to be able to move from a rented apartment, into a house that will be built by the Camden “Habitat for Humanity”, when enough money is raised…  (Go to www.HelpRiley.com for more info, & then click on “Grant Wish”, if you are led to contribute a few bucks !!)
My new atheist friend responded with the fact that he (as a professed atheist) didn’t think it was appropriate to respond to my plea for help…because I had suggested that the response for help should be made, “as the Lord leads you” !!  After several tweets back and forth…my friend made a rather unbelievable statement for anyone but an atheist to make…  He said… “I don’t believe in sin” !!
Of course atheists don’t believe in sin…  They don’t believe in hell either…  This gives them free rein to live a lust/sin filled, carefree life…without any worries about being held accountable for their sins…  I wonder what my friend calls murder or rape ??  (Here is a link on atheism, for those who want to read more about it…   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheism )
The apostle John (late in life) penned this, in…1 John 1:8…  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us(NKJV)  (The truth is the Holy Spirit/Christ…John 14:6)
Satan is a great deceiver, who is capable of deceiving the whole world…Revelation 12:9…including Christians…  We, using only our mortal minds, can easily be fooled by Satan…who is so deceptive, that he has even been described as an angel of light, in…2 Corinthians 11:13-14
But if we seek God’s help to search out our hidden sins, like David…who wrote the opening scripture…I would have to believe God would be happy to help His children realize and confess their sins…  David was, after all…a man after God’s own heart…Acts 13:22
We see this need by David to be cleansed of his sins, very clearly in this scripture penned by him, in…Psalm 139:23…  Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.  (NKJV)
When is the last time you asked the Lord to reveal any hidden sins in your life ??  I believe it should be every day, for the Christian who truly wants to live for Christ…  If we call ourselves Christians, we are suppose to be followers of Jesus Christ…  Christians can’t be living lives that are filled with unconfessed sins…and expect the Lord to bless and prosper their lives…
If your life is not filled with God’s richest blessings…if you are living with anxiety or stress…if you can’t find peace in all that you do…if fear, or jealousy, or hatred, or any of the other works of the flesh (that the apostle Paul lists in…Galatians 5:19-21) have you living in frustration…I am here to tell you that there is a better way to live your life…  But this better way has to include total submission to the Lord Jesus Christ…  (See link at the end for more on God’s grace through submission to Christ)
Christians can be deceived into believing their lives are going along great…at the same time they are living in sin…  They are either deceiving themselves, by believing that they are indeed Christians, when they are not yet redeemed in God’s eyes…   Or God hasn’t dropped the other shoe yet, because He is longsuffering…and God is patiently waiting for His children to turn from their sins, confess and repent of them…and come back to living a righteous life for Christ…1 John 1:9
God will eventually chastise or even scourge the ones He loves, who have decided to turn their backs on living for Him…  God promises this punishment to bring them back into submission to God’s will and His ways…  The writer of Hebrews gives us a complete picture of this promise God has made for His wayward children, in…Hebrews 12:5-11…  Here is the link for this tough love, promised by God…  http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=heb12:5-11&version=NKJV
The key scripture speaking of wayward, backsliding Christians that seem to be living without chastising from the Lord, can be seen, in…Hebrews 12:11  Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.  (NKJV)

All Christians can give others around them the appearance of living godly lives…  But since God knows our hearts and minds…Jeremiah 17:10…we really can’t hide our sins or our evil thoughts from Him…

If you are a Christian who is experiencing anything other than the peaceable fruit of righteousness“, that God will only provide to His obedient children…I can only suggest that you seek the Lord…ask Him to reveal any hidden sins you are harboring…and then turn from all sins (both known and revealed), with a repentant heart…as you submit to living your lives in total obedience to the Lord…
John 1:9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from allunrighteousness.  (NKJV)
Our God is a faithful and just God who wants to shower His richest blessings upon all of His obedient children, who are walking in the Spirit…Galatians 5:16…  This God-given joy and a supernatural peace which surpasses our mortal understanding (Philippians 4:6-7), can only be achieved by Christians who have been cleansed of allunrighteousness.
Heavenly Father, I pray that Your living and powerful Word, would cut right to the very core of our soul, like a two-edged sword…Hebrews 4:12-13…  Help each and every one of us Lord…in whatever spiritual state we now find ourselves in…to be urged by You to seek Your help in getting to the root of any sin problems…  I pray for this fullness of Christ to bring a peace into all our lives, that only You can provide…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
Blessings in Christ, bruce r mills
