1 Corinthians 1:18For the message of the crossisfoolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  (NKJV)

There are many important messages that people should be alerted to…in order to prepare for impending disaster…  The title of today’s writing came to my mind, as I remember seeing news boys on the streets in many old-time black and white movies of the past, trying to sell newspapers about some important news of the day…

Fire houses use to have sirens that went off, to alert local firemen in the area to come in to help fight a fire that had just been reported…  We have national tests done on TV on a regular basis, where all programming is stopped; to be sure a national broadcasting test would work in the event of some extremely important impending disaster…  But the absolutely most important message anyone could ever receive is “the message of the cross”, the “good news” about Jesus Christ  (The gospel of Christ message of why Jesus shed His blood on the cross at Calvary)…

Why is it, that this most important message of one’s lifetime is seldom heard today, when each day brings us a day closer to when it will be too late to share, and too late to be forgiven of one’s lifetime of sins ??  For those who falsely believe they can have sins forgiven after death, while in Purgatory…I urge you to read this days writing that is titled… “Is Purgatory Biblical ??”  @  https://godsmanforever.wordpress.com/2013/08/24/is-purgatory-biblical-8242013/

Our Sunday school lesson this past Sunday at my church, was done on one of Jesus’ parables titled…“The Parable of the Ten Virgins”…  Here is the link for this possible eye opening scripture, found in…Matthew 25:1-13…  http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=mat25%3A1-13&version=NKJV;KJV

This parable taught by Jesus, magnifies the need for all of us to be ready for Christ’s return (second coming) at any moment…  The parable is about 10 bridesmaids…5 of which were ready for the bridegroom (Christ) to come…and 5 who were not prepared, and who were locked out when the door was shut…  (This door was to enter heaven)

Matthew 25:10-13…explains this missed opportunity to become a Christian, where it is too late when Christ returns…or when a non-believer dies in their sins…John 8:24

Matthew 25:10-13…  And while they went to buy, the bridegroomcame, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and thedoorwasshut. 11 Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, Idonotknowyou.’ 13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the daynor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.  (NKJV)

Those who the Lord does not know as His redeemed child (Idonotknowyou), if Christ returns before they are saved…will be separated from the Lord for an eternity in hell…  We saw the Lord use very similar words with the exact same meaning, in the warning Jesus gave about falsely believing that self-righteous works done in the name of the Lord, would allow entrance into heaven…to those listening to His “Sermon on the Mount” preaching, in…

Matthew 7:21-23 Noteveryone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Yourname, cast out demons in Yourname, and done many wonders in Yourname?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘Ineverknewyou; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”  (NKJV)

Christians cannot blame unbelievers for their lack of understanding and blindness (2 Corinthians 4:4), when it comes to “the message of the cross”…like the opening scripture reveals…  After all…all of us were blinded by Satan, until the hour we first believed…when we were graced by God with salvation after God drew us in…John 6:44…through saving faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ…Ephesians 2:8-9

But God can certainly be unhappy with His children, because many of us have a lackadaisical attitude about sharing the “good news” of the gospel of His Son Jesus Christ, and/or our own testimony of God’s pure gift of grace in our own lives…

This “good news” message of God’s Son, who’s shed blood at the cross at Calvary will cleanse the sins of those who are graced by God with salvation, after seeking Jesus Christ to become their personal Lord and Savior…is a message that ALL Christians have been commanded by Jesus to share with those around them in need…Matthew 28:19-20

How about it, fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ ??  Now is the time to proclaim like never before, the “good news” message of the cross…  We see this urgent request in the Old as well as the New Testament…

Isaiah 55:6Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.  (NKJV)

2 Corinthians 6:2“In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the acceptedtime; behold, now is the day of salvation.  (NKJV)

If you don’t feel qualified to share this most important message…I urge you to send those in need of hearing the message of the cross to check out  www.800followme.com  where they can hear the gospel message by respected Christian leaders, to discover what God requires for eternal life in heaven with Him…

Heavenly Father, I pray that You will open eyes to see the urgency of sharing the message of the cross with those in need…  Urge all of Your children to step out in faith and with boldness, to share the gospel of Christ to those around them to…Call upon Him while He is near…  May Your children, just like Your servant the apostle Paul, not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ…Romans 1:16…  I pray that sharing this urgent message of the cross becomes a priority in the lives of all of Your children, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills
