1 Corinthians 12:4-6, 11There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who worksallinall. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to eachone individually asHewills.  (NKJV)

OK…So you are part of the approximate 20% or so of the Christians in the USA (of which approximately 80% of the country are professed Christians)…who is going to church… (See link at the end for statistics)  Why are you going to church to begin with ??  If it is because you want to fulfill a weekly obligation…in my humble opinion, you might be going to church for the wrong reason…  You might want to read a days writing that can be found in the P.S. at the end, titled… “Why Bother with Church”…

Are you going to a church that believes the Bible is the inerrant Word of God…and who bases their teaching and preaching exclusively on the truth found only in God’s Word, the Bible ??  If not…I might suggest spending some time reading a day’s writing that I titled… “Church Doctrine Starts and Ends with the Word”, written on 1/08/2013…and/or…“The Right Church”, written on 1/05/2013…

Finding the right church with the right doctrine, is of absolute importance to the Christian, if they want to grow in their spiritual knowledge and wisdom of the Lord, as they are being conformed over a lifetime into the image of Christ…Romans 8:29…  I base these comments on my own personal observations and experiences…  I have spoken to Christians who tell me it took some of them many years of searching, before they found the right church…

For those who have found the right church, “Are You Wearing a Bib, or an Apron ??”…  I was listening to a pastor preach on the radio this past Sunday afternoon…who was preaching on this very question…  He said if you were either a new believer or a Christian who was still only drinking milk…you were a babe in Christ wearing a bib, and asking the pastor of the church to “Feed Me”…  The writer of the Book of Hebrews speaks of milk drinkers, in…

Hebrews 5:13-14For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their sensesexercised to discern both good and evil(NKJV)

I just spent a day (using this same scripture) on how to go from drinking only milk as a babe in Christ…to eating meat, as a Christian growing and maturing through progressive sanctification…which was titled… “Testing the Spirit”, dated 11/04/2013…  I use my own life experiences on how the Holy Spirit has helped me to ward off Satan’s temptations and my own carnal flesh…to reach a point in my life where I am walking with the Lord on a more or less consistent basis…  Friends, I boast not in myself…but in the power of the Holy Spirit, without which I would be absolutely helpless against Satan’s deceitful attacks

The Christian who spends time growing in spiritual wisdom by diligently reading, masticating, and then applying God’s Word to their life, can not only discern good from evil…they are typically wearing an apron instead of a bib…and they are asking the Lord and their pastor…“Where can I serve ??”

God’s children are called to become part of a church body…assembling together in order to stir up love and good works(from… Hebrews 10:24)…  They are given a specific spiritual gift (or gifts) by God, as revealed in the opening scripture…and are urged by the Holy Spirit (if they are attentive) to apply their spiritual gift to help their church body grow and function like a well oiled machine…

I call this…“Getting Plugged in” to your church…  I spent a day writing in detail, about how this can be accomplished, on 1/19/2013…  Any of these days of writing can be found by going to www.Godsmanforever.wordpress.com and typing the dates as shown into the search window…

When the Christian finds and puts to use their spiritual gift as part of their church body…it will give the Christian a sense of belonging…and a feeling of joy you will never experience, if you go to church and never get plugged in to the body of Christ…

I will close with these instructions that the Apostle Paul gave to the church in Philippi, in…Philippians 2:1-4 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if anyfellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfishambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. (NKJV)

Heavenly Father, I pray that these instructions from Your Word, will motivate Your children to get plugged into a church that is living and vibrant; as the love of Christ and the growth of the church through selfless love becomes the norm, instead of the exception…  I pray Lord, that as Your children get plugged into a Bible believing church…that their own light will shine like never before (Matthew 5:16)…  I pray for this unity of the Spirit for all of Your children, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

P.S.  The statistics on Christians going to church were based upon a study I did over a year ago…and can be found in a day’s writing titled… “Why Bother with Church” found in the following link… https://godsmanforever.wordpress.com/2012/09/24/gods-group-thoughts-for-9242012-why-bother-with-church/
