Romans 13:14But puton the LordJesusChrist, and make noprovision for the flesh, to fulfill itslusts.  (NKJV)

In my writing last Monday (11/25/2013), I posted this opening scripture verse, without giving it much attention…as I discussed the right motivation for why Christians should be eager to spend time reading, digesting, and putting into practical application, what God reveals to us in His inerrant Word, the Bible, about how best to live our lives…

I had one special person in mind…when I wrote Monday’s blog…  I have the same individual in my thoughts and prayers again today…because I wanted to stress how important it is for them (as well as for ALL Christians), to align their lives in accordance to God’s will for His redeemed children…

Anyone who truly believes that they are a Christian (one who has been filled with the Holy Spirit by GodJohn 14:26)…who is not now walking in the Spirit with the Lord as their Master…is missing out on all of the help that God promises the Holy Spirit will provide to His obedient children…   But the Christian must get out of their own way, and humbly submit their lives to being controlled by the Holy Spirit…Ephesians 5:18-20

This idea of total submission to God is completely opposite of the desires of our flesh…  All of us are born with a natural sin nature (Romans 5:12), which the world and Satan uses to teach us that we are to be number one…with our own selfish desires at the top of our to do list…  Pride, arrogance, and continuous rebellion against God’s will…are all signs of people who have never become a Christian, saved by God’s pure grace, through saving faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ…Ephesians 2:8-9…   (See note at the end for more on God’s gift of grace)

Those not doing God’s will, as they believe their own self-righteous works done in the name of the Lord (like going to church every week)…will earn them a way into heaven…are warned by Jesus Himself, in this eye opening scripture…with the Lord turning people away from entering the kingdom of heaven, as written in…

Matthew 7:21-23 Noteveryone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Yourname, cast out demons in Yourname, and done many wonders in Yourname?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knewyou; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”  (NKJV)

“But puton the LordJesusChrist, in the opening scripture…means that the Christian has humbly decided to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit…  Their own agenda has been set aside, to place God and His will as most important in their lives…  To walk in the Spirit, all known sins have to be confessed, repented of, and turned from with reverent, heart-felt prayer…1 John 1:9…  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from allunrighteousness.  (NKJV)

The Christian is filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-20), and by walking in the Spirit, we again see (just like the opening scripture) the Christian being able to turn from the lusts of the flesh, in…Galatians 5:16…  I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and youshallnotfulfill the lust of the flesh.  (NKJV)

What the younger Christian (or any newer believer), many times fails to understand…is the awesome power of the Holy Spirit, which God has given to help His obedient children in EVERY  aspect of their lives…

Do you have a drug or alcohol addiction you are trying to overcome ??  Are you a Christian who is out of work, or struggling in any area of your life ??  Are you looking to make a change in your profession ??  No matter what door you are trying to open…no matter what mountain life has put before you to climb (Matthew 17:20)…if you are a redeemed child of God, all things in God’s will for your life are possible, with His help…

God is waiting for His redeemed children to come to Him for everything… God will direct His children down the absolute best path for their lives…  Here are some scripture verses to back up God’s promises…

Proverbs 3:5-6…  Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your ownunderstanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths(NKJV)

Philippians 4:13…  I can do all things through Christwho strengthensme.  (NKJV)

Ephesians 3:19-20toknow the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.    20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedinglyabundantlyaboveall that weask or think, according to the power that works in us,  (NKJV)   (This power that works in us, is the full power of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Christian living for Christ, who is walking in the Spirit)

Friends you are absolutely short-changing yourself, and withholding God’s best for your life…if you are a Christian who pridefully decides to make important decisions, without first going to God to seek His will… But first God’s Word tells us the Christian must confess all known sins for God to hear them

John 9:31 Now weknow that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, Hehearshim.  (NKJV)

God’s path forthe Christian, who is walking in the Spirit with Him, is always the right path…  The Apostle Paul pens this, in…Romans 8:28…  And we knowthatallthings work together for good to those who loveGod, to those who are the called according to Hispurpose.  (NKJV)

God has a purpose and a perfect plan for all of His children…  Once we understand that God’s plan is always perfect…even if we disagree or don’t feel we are qualified to follow His guidance…we will always be headed in the right direction by humbly following the Holy Spirit, as we puton the LordJesusChrist in obedience to God’s will and God’s ways…

Heavenly Father, I pray that all of Your children would see the benefits and the blessings You want to provide Your obedient children that seek, and then follow Your perfect guidance…  I pray Lord that Your Spirit will become the motivating force in the lives of all of Your children…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills  P.S.
