1 Peter 2:1-3Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and allevilspeaking, as newborn babes, desire the puremilk of the word, that you may grow thereby, ifindeedyouhavetasted that the Lord is gracious(NKJV)

Today’s writing stems from a combination of my last day’s writing on 2/22/2014 that was titled…“Speaking the Truth in Love”…my Q/T reading the other morning that included the opening scripture…and some comments made by a secular TV news show that I was watching while I was eating dinner by myself…  I am late writing this evening, because of a busy personal day…  I try to use life experiences around me, or what I have read in my Q/T reading, to spark an idea for the day’s writing…  It wasn’t until I heard the personal answer that 4 people made to the title of today’s writing, that I knew what I was going to write about today…

Two of the people answered that the day they were married was the most memorable moment of their lives…  One of them answered the day their child was born…  And the last one answered the day they stopped using hard drugs…  I would have absolutely answered with one or both of these important milestones of marriage and having children, if asked this question…that is, until the day God graced me with salvation…

This filling of the Holy Spirit by God, with a lifetime of sins cleansed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ at the cross, was for me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, and by far and away…the absolutely most important moment of my life, because I hadindeed” “tasted that the Lord is gracious.”  (See note at the end for more on God’s saving grace)

Your personal answer to what is the most important moment of your life, will speak volumes to where you are in your personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ…  Where and why you attend church (if church is part of your life) might also play a part in answering this question…  And lastly, how much love you experience, along with whether you have developed interpersonal relationships with fellow Christians at your church, will determine if the church your attending is a church filled with the love of Christ, like my church…  I urge every reader to read my writing about “Speaking the Truth in Love”, to see through my own personal experience, what going to a church filled with the love of Christ is really like…  You can find this writing by going to www.Godsmanforever.com and typing 2/22/2014 into the search window…

Friends, you can go to the same church all your life…and if you don’t know any better, you will never experience going to what I consider is the right kind of church, with the right church doctrine that is based exclusively upon God’s inerrant Word, the Bible…  But the church must be focused upon the Lord and the gospel of Christ, with the message of the cross preached on a regular basis…  A church doing all the right things in the name of the Lord, along with church doctrine based exclusively upon God’s Word, can still not be filled with the love of Christ, withthe focus primarily on Christ and His teaching…

I am reminded of writing in the Book of Revelation that reveals Christ’s response penned by the apostle John, to what has been described as the loveless church of Ephesus, in…Revelation 2:1-7…  Here is the link to this short piece of eye opening scripture…    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=rev2%3A1-7&version=NKJV;KJV

For over 40 years since this church in Ephesus was founded…they had remained faithful to the Word and the Lord…  But over timetheir love for the Lord had grown cold, because they had lost their focus on Christ and their love for Him, in lieu of all the works they were doing for the Lord, while forsaking Him…  Here is the important scripture penned by the apostle John, with Christ revealing this loss of love for Him, in…

Revelation 2:4-5…  Nevertheless I have thisagainstyou, that you have left yourfirstlove. Remember therefore fromwhereyou have fallen; repent and do the firstworks, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its placeunless you repent.  (NKJV)

Christ was saying that the Ephesians had to turn their focus and love back on Him, repenting of their sin of forsaking Him…or else Christ would snuff out the church !!   I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place”  This is some pretty serious talk by Christ about an entire, established Christian church being closed down by Him !!

There are now over 41,000 Christian denominations (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christian_denominations), and the possible answer as to why there are so many differences in what should be the same love for the Lord and the unity of Christ’s church (like there was in the first century A.D.), are answered by this www.gotquestions.org site @ the following link…   http://www.gotquestions.org/denominations-Christian.html

Friends, if you are a Christian, is your love for the Lord the most important thing in your life ??  Are you going to a Christ-centered,Bible believing church that is preaching and teaching the truth from God’s Word…along with the gospel of Christ on a regular basis ??  Don’t listen to me…  Listen to your own heart, and follow that urge when the Holy Spirit tells you to consider looking for a church like mine, that is truly filled with the love of Christ

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your living and powerful Word would open the eyes of everyone negligent to the fact that their priorities in life are not in alignment to Your revealed will which is found throughout Your inerrant Word, the Bible…  I pray Lord that You will show each and every one of Your redeemed children any deficiency that we must correct, to bring our lives into obedience to Your will and Your ways…  I pray for this urging by the Holy Spirit to bring us closer to You, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ,  bruce r mills
