                                “Digging Deeper”
“The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning” Psalm 25:14 AMP
The incredible depths oil rigs drill to find oil is amazing.  Having to case through surface water to get down deeper to the good water is not uncommon in drilling water wells.
We need to be mindful that many of the treasures of God are buried and will be found only by those who dig deep enough to find them.
Our relationship with the Lord grows and grows as we dig deeper and deeper into His Word and we find more and more of the peace and joy that comes only from abiding in Him.
God sometimes has to allow major disappointment and hurts in order to get us anchored deeper in Him.  When we get so full of ourselves and our own power and ability we tend to stay in the shallowness of a shallow faith and see no need to go deeper.
The abundant life that Jesus came, lived, and died to bring us all who believe, is fueled by a living faith that grows in direct proportion to how we grow in our knowledge of Him and His will for our lives, as revealed in His Word.
If we believe the Bible that says that “God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”,  we should also believe that our relationship with Jesus should be growing deeper and deeper so that we can become more spiritually mature and more like Him every day of our lives.
As we dig deeper and deeper through prayer, fellowship, worship, and growing in the Word, the more peace, security, and joy we will have in the new eternal life in Christ we have been given.
Father, help me to keep digging deeper and deeper into your well of love that will never run dry.  In Jesus’ name, Amen
