Mike, I am not in a position to help you financially, but I would like to let you know a little about me. Almost 25 years ago my husband and I faced a similar situation. He was the owner of a thriving advertising business, employing 12 people. Everything seemed to be going well for us. We had a beautiful home, our kids were in private schools, we had just married off our oldest daughter and the bottom fell out. The economy was in a recession and the first thing to be cut from budgets was advertising. We lost everything – home, vehicles, bank accounts were frozen and we went to bankruptcy court with $11.34 in our pockets. We were about to turn 50 to top it off. Life looked pretty bleak. We soon discovered who our true friends were. We both took any kind of work we could find. I cleaned houses and my husband drove a messenger truck. When it looked like we would never get back on our feet, a friend offered to sell us a house on a contract for deed. You might say this was just a good guy helping out a friend, but we truly believe that God had orchestrated the whole thing. I know I can’t change how you feel about God. I just want you to know that this doesn’t have to be a desperate situation for you. There will be many (christians too) who will come to your aid. I applaud your laying it out to the blogging community. That took a lot of courage. My point in all this is that life sucks sometimes, but if You put your faith in something other than yourself, it can be a whole lot easier. I hope things get better for you soon. BTW my husband are doing fine. We discovered through our adversity that we could find work in the things we really loved doing. We’re still working and are 73.
