“Are You a Christian in God’s Eyes…or in name only ?”
Written by bruce r. mills for “God’s group” @ www.Godsmanforever.com
Ephesians 2:8-9… For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (ESV)
With Easter behind us, my hope is that there will be many people who went to church on Good Friday, or what I call “Resurrection Sunday” (Easter)…and heard the “good news” message of the cross… The Holy Spirit must work in the heart of the unbeliever…giving them the understanding that they cannot earn their own way into heaven… If they heard the gospel message, that Christ died for those who believe in Him with saving faith…a seed was planted !! But only God can grant a sinner the grace they need, to be deemed righteous in His sight…
None of us will ever be good enough, on our own merit, to enter heaven…
No amount of going to church…no amount of money placed in the offering
plate…no amount of time spent giving out communion in an old age
home…none of these efforts done in the name of the Lord, will grant us
grace by God, to enter through those pearly white gates of heaven, when we
breath our last breath here on earth…
Some religions believe getting into heaven is a combination of faith in
Jesus Christ, along with a list of man-made doctrine requiring good works, that must be followed and completed…in order to be deemed righteous in God’s eyes… My friends, Jesus was clear about not following traditions and
doctrine made up by man, especially when they go against God’s inerrant
Word, the Bible…when Jesus spoke this to the Pharisees, in…
Matthew 15:7-9… You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: 8 “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.‘” (ESV)
I sit here with absolute love and concern for all of those around me…and
anyone reading these words today, who have never been graced with salvation by God Himself… I am concerned about the eternal afterlife of anyone believing they are a Christian, when God has never granted them grace, and filled them with the Holy Spirit… Their lifetime of sins have never been covered by the shed blood of Jesus Christ…and if they die without these sins being forgiven by God Himself…they will never enter heaven when they breath their last… Jesus tells us this, in…
John 8:23-24… He said to them, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your
sins.” (ESV)
I write today, for all those religious people out there…who for any number
of reasons falsely believe they are a Christian…but they still have a
heart of that is not filled with the Holy Spirit… People call themselves a Christian for many reasons… Maybe their parents were of a certain faith, and they were raised in the same faith…being taught to be religious by their parents… Maybe they heard about God’s saving grace years ago, in youth group…and they wanted to become a Christian because they didn’t want to go to hell when they die… They made a prayer, asking God to forgive their sins, and they now falsely believe they are a Christian, when they are not… Friends, it is not the prayer to God, that saves us… Saying what some people call the “Salvation Prayer” (Romans 10:9-10), because WE want to go to heaven, will not, in and of itself, grant us God’s grace… God gives us the right to become His redeemed children… We see this very clearly in…
John 1:10-13… He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
(ESV)
We are all sinners from birth… All of us deserve to be separated from
God…because God hates sin… The apostle Paul pens this, in…Romans
3:23… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (ESV)
To be graced with salvation by God…one must humble themselves before
God…and seek Jesus Christ to become their personal Lord and Savior, through hearing (or reading) the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ… God gives us the ears to hear (or the eyes to read) the “good news” message of the cross… The sinner, after hearing (or reading), the gospel
presentation…must confess their lifetime of sins to God, with godly
sorrow, and a truly repentant heart… God know our heart, and our
minds…and will grace the unredeemed sinner with salvation, when they seek Jesus Christ to become their personal Lord and Savior with every ounce of their being…
Below you will find a presentation of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…
It is my hope and my prayer today…that God draws you in (John 6:44), and
that you open and read this presentation of the gospel, with understanding and a changed will to seek Christ as your Savior, that only God can give you…
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that the Holy Spirit works in the hearts and
minds of those who are not yet a redeemed child of Yours… I pray that
they open and read the gospel (“good news”) message below, given eyes by You to see that their life can be changed by You, if they surrender their lives
to You with a truly humble and contrite heart… I thank You Father, for
granting grace to all of those who seek Jesus with saving faith alone…to
become their personal Lord and Savior… As always, I pray for lives to be
changes in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ…Amen…
Blessings in Christ, bruce
