The supernatural work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Christian, is something I pray all believers will come to experience, when they finally see the light, and submit to the will of God…giving them power to resist the temptations of the devil and their own fleshly desires…James 4:7-8… By walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, instead of walking in their own strength…the Spirit filled Christian will receive God’s richest blessings that He reserves for His obedient children… Walking in the Spirit with all the benefits God will provide, has to be experienced to be believed…
Galatians 5:16… But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. (ESV)
I have read through several commentaries on Galatians 5:16 [see 1. Below for a link to commentaries by dozens of theologians], and have found this writing to be spot on !! I have permission to re-post this article by John F Walvoord, long time president of Dallas Theological Seminary…
John F. Walvoord, long-time president of Dallas Theological Seminary, was one of the most prominent evangelical scholars of his generation.
Reblogged this on God's group and commented:
I am going to re-blog this on a regular basis…because it is the most important post I have made in the last 8 years !!

It’s also amazing to me after re-reading this again, how important the ACT of faith is (as it always is in a Christian’s life) in relation to holy perfection as listed. Because we CAN’T obtain it completely in the natural, but it is demanded AND promised in the spiritual, the man or child of faith MUST walk as the Great Abraham did, in faith believing it was and could be obtainable. Even the Apostle Paul, as shown in the references knew, in faith, that this was possible, in faith, knowing the Holy Spirit was accomplishing this very thing in our individual lives!
As with reading the Living Word of God, over and over again dear Brother Bruce, a spiritual-minded person will always see something afresh and new with every re-reading! It is good to repost those things when taken to heart can be life-changing, indeed!!
God bless you for this again!!
