“Using your Spiritual gift”
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.
1st Timothy 1:12
I believe that God has given all of us who know Him as our Lord, a ministry. And I also know and believe that when He calls a person into a ministry, He enables that person to perform that ministry. I also believe that some folks are attempting to perform ministries with no calling from God into that particular ministry. And some people are in the ministry who treat it like a job they have been hired to do. And when that is the case, their level of devotion is based on how much they are getting paid to do it.
Paul thanked God for “enabling him”. Paul knew well that where God guides, God always provides. And Paul did not lay around on couches waiting for someone to feed him. Paul WORKED to provide for himself and others while he was still faithful to his ministry.
This morning, I thank and praise God for people He has called into the ministry. I especially thank Him for those who are faithful to that task. For the ministry that God has called us into is a worthy endeavor. And when we are faithful, God is honored and glorified. And the minister is always careful to point people to Christ and not himself. When this is the case, you will find a minister who is able to thank God for placing him in the ministry, with a profound awareness that his ability to fulfill that ministry comes from God and God alone.
