This Sunday at Church: Pray for those working overtime because of Corona Virus
April 5, 2020 by SLIMJIM
More and more churches are doing service online in light of the virus. Our “This Sunday” series will be another a Corona Virus edition. There’s so much to pray for. Last week we looked at This Sunday at Church: Pray for those at Risk with Corona Virus. If you are experiencing Church online here’s something you can do this Sunday: Pray for those working overtime because of Corona Virus.
This past Friday we have our monthly Church couple’s meeting which we met through Zoom. I was very moved to hear people’s different jobs that has increased the amount of hours and stress and risk with the virus.
I know last week I covered Philippians 4:6 and its still relevant to read it here again: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” If it is true that “in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” we must pray for those who have increased their work in order to care for others.
Pray for them.
Pray for the obvious ones: Doctors, nurses, Physician Assistant, paramedics, EMTs, and police officers. Think of the whole host of people working in the hospital to keep it up and running.
But also pray for truck drivers who drive more hours during this time and grocery workers who work hard to have things stock, and logistics coordinators for various industries.
Pray for IT guys working overtime to make their company be able have their employees work at home. Pray for those who work for banks trying to process loans for small businesses now trying to survive.
Pray for those working hard to deliver things to people’s home. Think of UPS drivers, the mailman, FedEx, those who delivering food, employees of Amazon and Ebay, etc.
Think of the farmers, the fast food workers, and those who work in factories making masks and ventilators.
Pray for those whom you know that fit these descriptions in your church, in your family and in your neighborhood.
Pray.
