“Do You still Sin a lot as a Christian ??”

Romans 6:1-2… What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?  (NKJV)

Yesterday I wrote about people with a false sense of security; who believe they are Christian’s in their own minds; when indeed by God’s standards and in God’s eyes…they have not yet been accepted into His family as one of His redeemed children… This writing was so important to understand, I am including the link for those who didn’t get a chance to read it yet…                      https://www.facebook.com/notes/gods-group/gods-group-thoughts-for-5302012-a-false-sense-of-security-revisited/10150831183271437

When a person has been forgiven of their sins by God, and graced with the free gift of salvation through faith alone in Jesus Christ…they become a new creature in Christ…2 Corinthians 5:17… Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creationold things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (NKJV)

All Christians are in-dwelt with the Holy Spirit; a life long Helper given to them by God, to guide and direct the child of God in their daily walk with the Lord… The sinner’s old life and hardened heart will have been replaced with a new regenerated heart that is filled with the love of Christ… Any old sins that Satan had kept us in bondage with, should be gone from our lives… The apostle Paul explains this death of our old sins this way, in…

Romans 6:11… Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (NKJV)

The Christian goes from being a slave to Satan and sin…to becoming a slave of God…Romans 6:22… But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.  (NKJV)

This fullness of the Holy Spirit, given to the new Christian at the time they receive salvation, will produce a servant’s heart with a new desire to please God, not man… God has chosen sinner’s out of the world of sin and shame; and delivered them as Christian’s into His family as a citizen of heaven…

Philippians 3:20… For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, (NKJV)

This is why the new Christian should appear like a totally different person to those around them, which knew them before their conversion by God… This is where the new Christian will be most susceptible to caving in to pier pressure from those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior…

The new child of God, if truly converted by God, and filled with the Holy Spirit…must focus on pleasing God at all personal cost of persecution and ridicule… Will this be easy for the new Christian ??  No !!  And it won’t be easy for the more mature Christian either…unless they remain filled with the full power of the Holy Spirit…  All Christian’s should develop a daily routine of prayer, reading the Bible, attending a Bible believing and teaching church, and try to never go against the leading of the Holy Spirit God has given them… The apostle Paul writes this, in…

2 Corinthians 4:16… Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.  (NKJV)

This renewing day by day can only take place, if the Christian continuously looks to Christ in all that they say and do…and then immediately confesses and repents of any sins as soon as they occur…

1 John 1:9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJV)

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the need for all Christian’s to understand, and then to put on the entire set of spiritual armor provided by God, that the apostle Paul writes about in…Ephesians 6:10-20… God will totally protect us from Satan, if we are wearing all of God’s spiritual armor Paul describes in detail in this link… http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=eph6:10-20&version=NKJV

I can’t begin to go into specifics today…but rest assured God’s Word is nothing but truth, and this set of spiritual armor has been protecting me…

Ephesians 6:11… Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  (NKJV)

The only offensive piece of this spiritual set of armor is the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God…  From this, comes the other pieces of spiritual armor…the belt of truth…the breastplate of righteousnessfoot protection with the gospel of peace…the shield of faith (the most important piece of spiritual armor to quench the fiery darts of Satan)…the helmet of salvation (to protect the brain from Satan’s attacks)… And lastly, there is prayer; which is what I call the glue that holds all of God’s armor in place…

As Christians, we have been chosen by God for the sole purpose of glorifying Him… When we sin as a Christian, we are grieving the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30); and continued sinning without repentance, for years, can only be seen as a person who cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit… Worst case scenario…they may be a Christian in their own mind, but not in God’s eyes… [See P.S. below for how to be ON FIRE for the Lord]

Heavenly Father, I thank You and praise You for who You are…  Help all of us understand what You require for us to become one of Your redeemed children…  And then Lord…help Your children to remain filled with the Holy Spirit, to bring joy and absolute peace into our hearts and lives, that Your servant Paul expresses so well in…

Ephesians 5:18-20… And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songssinging and making melody in your heart to the Lord20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,  (NKJV)

I pray for this fullness of the Holy Spirit for all of our lives…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ, bruce
