You are a Miracle!

It must be so frustrating to be an atheist and shave or put on makeup. Every time they look in the mirror, they are confronted with the most powerful testimony to the existence of the Creator. Every cell in the human body bears God’s signature. The same applies to the atheist astronomer because from the farthest reaches of space God has made Himself known. Psalm 19:1 says: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
Likewise, the deeper within your own body you look the more you understand that a Grand Designer is at work. Check this out: there is a digestive enzyme in your body that is only needed when you consume lactose – milk sugar. It is produced by one specific DNA protein that just quietly hangs around until you drink milk. Your body signals that protein to plug into his place in the DNA strand and start producing that specific enzyme. When the milk is gone, this little dude goes back to just hanging out, waiting for the next dairy product. Isn’t that incredible?! I know I didn’t exactly give a “scientific” explanation there, but the point is this: there is far too much intricacy and complexity to the human body – and to all of creation – to think this all happened by accident!
Life is an extraordinary and precious gift. Within every living being, whether plants or animals or my sweet granddaughter, molecules, cells, and genes, each with its own properties and purpose, are working diligently according to their individual design—one small part of the whole. If you need any further proof of God as the Designer of life, study the stages of procreation – of how Joy came to be. This is no random colliding of cells, this is Design at its finest!
Beloved, you are a walking billboard declaring the Creator. Every breath you take, the beat of your heart, your brain waves, and the DNA that makes your body work all cries out: “God was here!” The next time you look in the mirror, gaze at your reflection with awe and wonder. The God of the Universe made you and loves you.
