“The Right Path”

Psalm 25:10…  All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. (NKJV)

My friend, are you on the right path as you live your life ??  Did you decide on this being the right path with your own thoughts, hard work, and determination ??  I am not saying someone cannot become successful by hard work and determination without God’s help…  There are plenty of people who have become successful, and wealthy without the help of the Lord…  But I will tell you that if you are on a path laid out with the help of God, as His redeemed, “born again” child…you will have all that you will ever need in life, no matter how much or how little you are able to accumulate financially…

The Bible teaches us this, written by the wise Solomon, in…Proverbs 14:12…  There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.  (NKJV)  Jesus explains that there are two ways of life you can choose, or path’s you can take, in…

Matthew 7:13-14…    “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. ¹⁴ Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.  (NKJV)

The narrow gate is found by having saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and comes through true salvation given by God Himself for those who have had their sins cleansed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ at the cross…  This is accomplished as one understands and obeys the “good news” message of the cross…the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…  [See P.S. below]  God’s saving grace leads to eternal life in heaven…

The wide gate in this scripture above, is the way of the world, who is headed down the wrong path in life…and will lead to eternal destruction, and separation from God if one dies in their sins (John 8:24), without being filled with the Holy Spirit as a redeemed child of God…

Once you are a redeemed child of God, you are just starting your walk down the right path God has prepared for you, IF you humble yourself, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct your life…  Again, King David’s son Solomon, who God made the wisest man there ever was (1 Kings 4:29-31), wrote this most important piece of scripture…

Proverbs 3:5-6…  Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; ⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.  (NKJV)

Not only will you be walking down the right path prepared by God…Jesus’ promises you that if you follow Him, you will never walk in darkness, penned by the Apostle John in…John 8:12…  Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”  (NKJV)

I often quote this scripture penned by the Apostle Paul…especially for teenagers who have to make important decisions in their life…

Ephesians 3:20…  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,  (NKJV)

This “power that works in us,” is the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit who can open doors and help a believer of any age in making the right decision, whether it be what occupation one should choose…or help in picking out the right spouse for a lifelong relationship, or any other decision in life that one has to make…  Why wouldn’t it be beneficial to seek the Holy Spirit’s help in making any important decision ??  Since God doesn’t make any mistakes, for me it is a no-brainer !!

So there you have it !!  Some biblical guidance on how best to choose the right path in life…

Gracious God and heavenly Father, I pray Your living and powerful Word (Hebrews 4:12) would cut right to the soul of readers who are not now following a path You would love to help them pick…  I pray Father, that unbelievers would seek the Lord while He may still be found (Isaiah 55:6-7), and that You would change hearts and lives today in the blink of an eye for all eternity…  I pray for these life changes directed by You in the sweet name of Your Son Jesus, and for His sake…Amen…
