“God’s Mercy and Compassion”

It is because of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed; because his compassions fail not. v.23: They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.

Lamentations 3: 22-23

I can’t speak for anyone else, but as for me, when it comes to mercy versus justice, I choose mercy. You see, I am very, very thankful that God doesn’t give me what I deserve. If I got what I deserved, I would not have woke up this morning. But God’s mercy and compassion never cease to exist, because He IS God. He desires to forgive, and He desires to bless.

And God wants men to come to Him by faith. When we do that, we experience the wonderful grace and forgiveness of our Heavenly Father. That forgiveness and grace is made possible because of the sacrifice that Christ offered up in the form of His shed blood for our sins.

This morning I got up a little later than usual. We are living in stressful times and days. It may be that it will get worse before it gets better. But each day that God allows us to live, we ought to be very thankful for His mercy and compassions. Because without those amazing attributes and desires of the most High God, I would be no more.
