This Sunday at Church: Ask how youth workers are doing

April 11, 2021 by SLIMJIM

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Ask how youth workers are doing.

A few weeks ago I posted “Find Out About and Biblically Support the work towards the Youth.”  In that post I emphasized more about what you can be involved with, and what you can do.

Nevertheless I also realize being involved with ministering to the youth might not be every one’s direct calling or gifting.  Yet another way you can help with your church’s ministry to the youth is to ask how youth workers are doing.

What do I mean by asking how are they doing?

I mean asking the open ended question: “How are you?”

I know many people when asked that can simply say “fine.”

But ask more specific questions.

  • “How are you doing with teaching and ministering to the youths?”

  • “How is Sunday school going?”

  • “What are the challenges you guys are facing with the ministry?”

  • “What is something you praise the Lord for, with our church’s youth ministry?”

  • “Do you see something God is doing with our young people?”

  • “Is there anyone among the youths I can pray for?”

  • “Is there anything discouraging you with youth ministry that I can pray for you about?”

  • “What are some changes you have seen with the youths in the last year?”

  • “What’s the biggest highlight this past year for you with serving the kids at church?”

  • “Is there anyone who works alongside you with ministering to the youth that you really appreciate?”

Hopefully those questions are helpful.  What other questions can you think of?
