“Always put others before yourself !!”

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Philippians 2:3

When we deny self, it helps us to avoid strife. You see, when I fail to deny self, it is in those times I desire to have it all MY way. But God tells us to look out for the interests of others. That is hard to do when I can’t see what your interests are because I am blinded by my own interests. That is why we must let God be our source. For when we allow God to lead, He shows us what is profitable and valuable to others.

This morning, I asked God to help me to not allow selfishness or pride to be my guide. I ask Him to help me to give honor to others more than to myself. And I ask Him to help me to more humble, and give me the desire to sincerely be concerned about the interests of others. That may mean I must forego some of my self-interests in the process. It definitely means I need to put others first. And in the process of it all, I know it will help me to live today with much less strife in my life. Because what days I have left, I prefer to live without becoming a promoter of strife during those days.
