This Sunday at Church: Talk to an Elderly Church Member

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Talk to an Elderly.

I know I have several posts concerning youths on Sunday such as Find Out About and Biblically Support the work towards the Youth, Ask how youth workers are doing and Pray for someone’s decision of which college to attend next school year.

I don’t want to make it imbalance.  We must not have favoritism.  So this Sunday talk to someone who is elderly.

I’m going to have to explain what I mean by elderly.  In my church we have a lot of young people and last week during prayer meeting one college student said he had an elderly professor and the age he mentioned the professor is made me almost laugh out loud knowing what this young man think is an elderly person.

Talk to someone not a few years older, but significantly older.  Preferably talk to someone that can get Senior Discount at Denny’s Restaurant.  Yes, that kind of elderly.

That’s an age some churches neglect in our day and age that worships youth and being young.  But it ought not be this way.

If you are shy then the best candidate for you to talk to someone is someone older.  Gone are the pretenses of “do I know you?”  The older people get when they are at church the more they are open to talk to others (generally speaking).

It’s been a hard year has it not?  Some of those who are elderly are hoping to have some kind of communication with others.  So go and ask someone how are you.
