This Sunday at Church: Pray for the 340 Million Global Christians in Harm’s Way

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray for the 340 Million Global Christians in Harm’s Way.

According to an article it says:

But a quick scan across international horizons reveals incomparably dire straits: Christians are facing immediate, desperate, and even deadly circumstances. Open Doors’ 2021 World Watch List report revealed that 340 million Christians — one in eight globally — face high levels of persecution and discrimination because of their faith. There was also a 60 percent increase in the number of Christians killed for their faith in the past year.  (Hat Tip: Michael)

The article goes on to lists some examples of persecution worldwide.  It’s worth reading.

The first Sunday of November has been set aside as the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church.  Whatever Sundays you happen to read this I think it is worth to pray with someone at Church about this.  You can do this by attending a Prayer meeting and bringing this up.  You can talk to someone and then say “hey, I have been burdened to pray with someone at church about the believers in the paths of persecution.”  Sadly sometimes asking for others to pray together with Church one can be seen as strange; it shouldn’t be but I think doing this though might stretch yourself and others to pray together with others.  What better way to pray for believers who really need it!
