“We are Chosen by God”
John 6:44… No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. (NKJV)
Many people, when asked if they thought they were going to heaven, say they believe they are morally good most of the time…and since their good outweighs their bad, God will open the gates of heaven and invite them in, when they breathe their last…
And there are people whose religion has taught them that Purgatory exists… And unless they commit a mortal sin, they will die and go to Purgatory until God hears the prayers of the deceased person’s friends and family…and they will eventually be aloud into heaven… This teaching my friends, is NOT in the Bible… Look at Reference Number 1. below for a short explanation of the difference between venial and mortal sins…
And then there are some who go to church every week, and believe all the good works they have done for the Lord will surely get them past those pearly white gates of heaven when they breathe their last… They visit old age homes bringing Communion to those who can’t get out to church… Unfortunately (and most sadly), Jesus tells them Himself that this false belief will have Jesus telling those who want to enter heaven that they will be not only be turned away, they will spend eternity separated from God in a not so nice place… [Open 2. Here is the scripture telling those who worked so hard to get into heaven, that their good works for Jesus will sadly have Jesus telling them to go away, because He never knew them as His “born again”, redeemed children. This is perhaps the most chilling piece of scripture in the Bible for people trying to earn their way into heaven…
Matthew 7:22-23… Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (NKJV)
People have these false beliefs on how to get into heaven, because they don’t know the truth God wants all people to understand… This truth is found only in the Holy Bible, which is God’s inerrant Word, which has never been proven to have any false statements in it… The opening scripture has Jesus teaching us that God must first draw in an unbeliever, before they can enter heaven… And anybody first drawn in by God will always be accepted into heaven…

This teaching is called the Effectual calling by God, and it is called so because God’s calling is effective at bringing unbelievers into heaven by God’s grace alone, through saving faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ… There are several other pieces of scripture confirming it is totally God’s decision on who will be born sheep, and who will be born goats… The sheep get into heaven, and the goats do not… [See 3. The Bible also teaches us that all we have to do is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and we will be saved…
Acts 16:31… So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (NKJV)
We read the same thing about just believing in Jesus to be saved, in this most well known piece of scripture, in…
John 3:16… For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (NKJV)
These two thoughts (it is all God’s work, and we must seek the Lord for salvation) on how someone becomes a Christian in God’s eyes seem to oppose each other… One says it is all God’s work for an unbeliever to be saved by first being drawn in by God… There is no way we can earn our way into heaven ourselves, unless we are first drawn in by God…John 6:44… (The effectual call) The opposing thought is that all we have to do is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and we will be saved…
My friends both of these statement are true… It is a mystery that I don’t believe we will never truly understand this side of heaven… We have to seek and find the Lord Jesus Christ after we understand and obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ… And yet we are dead in our trespasses (See Ephesians 2:1, and Colossians 2:13) , and will never be able to seek and find the Lord, until we are first drawn in by God Himself… The Holy Spirit quickens our heart and gives us the ability to seek and find the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, when we seek Jesus with ALL of our heart, mind, soul, and strength…
Most people are offended when they are told there is no way they are going to heaven unless they are first drawn in by God… But my friends, this is what God’s Word teaches us…
One thing is for sure… If we don’t know God, and obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ before we die, we will be forever separated from the Lord and punished with everlasting destruction…
2 Thessalonians 1:8-9… in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, (NKJV)

Gracious God and heavenly Father, Your Word is living an powerful (Hebrews 4:12)… I pray Your Word would touch every heart reading todays post, and that you would draw in those that do not yet know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior… May they seek and find Jesus to change them and bless them with eternal life in heaven with You… And for Your redeemed, “born again” children, I pray they would live Christ-centered, Spirit-filled lives in obedience to Your will for them… Once they realize that everything that happens in their lives You mean for their good (Romans 8:28), I pray that their faith and trust in You will grow stronger and stronger as the months and years go by… Bless each and every reader today with Your riches blessings… I ask for these life altering changes in our lives to occur, in Jesus’ most precious name, and for His sake…Amen…
