“You will NEVER be forsaken !!”

Let your conversation be without covetousness and be content with such things as you have; for God hath said, I will never leave thee nor forsake you.

Hebrews 13:5

Sometimes I get to looking at all the fine things in the world that I can’t afford, and I find myself longing for them. It would be nice to always be able to buy anything you saw that you desired. I often wonder what that would feel like.

God has warned us about the love of money. And He has warned us about the sin of covetousness. It is a sin we are certainly exposed to and vulnerable to its luring. It helps me when my eyes are bigger than my bank account, and my appetite is bigger than my plate, to remember to be content with the blessings God has chosen to grant me. But what really helps me the most is to know that God will NEVER leave me nor forsake me.

This morning in the early days of the year 2022, I thank God for His blessings. They are too many to count! And I ask Him to help me to be content. For you see, real contentment comes with the realization that our God will never leave us nor forsake us! And this is great wealth for the poorest of the poor.
