Prophesied & Fulfilled: Scripture Writing Plan June 2022
May 31, 2022Elihu
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.”
Matthew 5:17-18 ESV
Throughout the ages, many people have claimed to “prophesy” or have the ability to see the future. The reality is, that only God knows and understands the “future” because He is eternal, seeing the end and the beginning and all the things around it. At specific times (and to specific people) He gave insights into the future. Isaiah was one of His prophets who recorded many things about Jesus and His kingdom in addition to many things about the doom of the ancient kingdom of Israel.
Prophecies strengthen our confidence in the promises of the Lord because we look back and see that He really is who He says He is, and He is powerful enough to keep His word.
For the month of June, we will look at several prophecies in Isaiah and their quotation and/or fulfillment in the New Testament. This is by no means an exhaustive list. There are more! There will be days in which you copy a passage from both Isaiah and its New Testament reference, other days, you will just copy the scripture from Isaiah and then copy its fulfillment over the subsequent days. In the PDF below, I have included a brief description of the prophetic reference. To download the black and white PDF, click the link!
June 2022 Scripture WritingDOWNLOAD
Summer is a great time to get your kids started with scripture writing! If you have younger scripture writers, Sara McBroom has put together these wonderful tracing and copying sheets for them! If your child is still tracing letters, use the tracing sheets, if they have moved on to copying, the copying sheets have nice large lines for them to write it out. If you have older kids who like to be more creative, get them their own journal and have them use different colored pens or add other creative touches. I sometimes encourage my kids to find words or concepts which stand out to them and highlight, underline, or emphasize them in some other way.

If you are new to scripture writing, and aren’t even sure how to get started, check out this post: How to Use Scripture Writing Plans.
If you use social media you can visit Elihu’s corner on Facebook and Instagram (@elihuscorner). I try to post the scripture(s) for that day and some thoughts for consideration.
I hope you’ll join us as we meditate on these scriptures this month!
