“God gives us all we have”
For I say through the grace given me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Romans 12:3
I am certain that there are many students of the Word of God who are much smarter than me. I have to work at studying God’s Word. And some things that are clearly revealed and crystal clear are much easier for me to understand than those things that God has chosen to conceal. I praise Him for the grace He has given me. I didn’t earn or deserve any of it. I ask Him to help me to think clearly and soberly. I ask Him to help me to never think of myself more highly than I ought to think. And I pray for forgiveness for the times I have acted in unbelief and without faith. For I realize that even the measure of faith I have is a wonderful gift from God.
God has given ALL of us special gifts in order to strengthen the body of Christ. I pray we use them to edify and lift up Christ, and never ourselves. I don’t know everything, and neither do you. When I start to believe I am better than someone else, that in itself proves I have much to learn. But I ask God to help me use the things He has taught me and given me to share the gospel with all the world. For the gospel takes precedence in all He has called me to do. For all of us, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one of us members, one of another. So, this morning, I ask God to strengthen the body of Christ as we gather to worship and serve Him!
