This Sunday at Church: Pray for recovery after Hurricane Ian

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for recovery after Hurricane Ian.

I realize the news of the Hurricane is passed; our news cycle only covers a certain time; our social media age also means most people’s attention span is short before the next news story gets its fame and focuses for 15 minutes.

But still, real people suffered and lost things from the Hurricane.

I think we must not forget that and to still pray days and weeks after the Hurricane.

I saw this post “Open Letter from an Ian Survivor.”  It reminded me to also pray for Christians to recover but also for God to use them to be a light and witness to people right now.  Eternity is at stake and not just the temporal.  How could we not pray?
