“Finish the Race”

The race of faith is long.

I get tired sometimes.

It would be so easy to drop out and join the go-with-the-flow mentality of the world, but to drop out of the race is to choose total loss. I would be walking away from the perfect relationship, the ultimate reward, and the most peaceful destination.

The Lord is the one who makes it possible for us to have eternal life; you and I cannot make that happen on our own merits.

Our job is to stay the course. This demands discipline, focus, and self-control.

Don’t drop out of the race.

Stay the course.

“So I do not run aimlessly;

I do not box as one beating the air.

But I discipline my body

and keep it under control,

lest after preaching to others

I myself should be disqualified.”

1 Corinthians 9:26-27 ESV
