This Sunday at Church: Not taking things at Church for granted

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Do not take things at Church for granted.

I think we can easily assume things will always be the same at church.  We can easily assume others will always be the ones that set things up for our church to be the way it is.  Things we take for granted; lights turned on; AC working.  Places swept and trash taken out.  Nursery.  Signs.  Bulletins.  Sermons.  Ushers.  Announcements.  Chairs.  Rooms.  Other people.  Pastors. Deacons. Elders.  Members. Kids.  Seniors.  Those with Special needs.  The teaching.  Bibles.  PowerPoints.  Someone counting the offering and running administrative and logistical details.

I could go on.

I think going to church today is worth praying before we set foot on the Church’s parking lot (if there’s somewhere to park praise God for that too!).  Pray to God to let you not take things for granted at your church.

It can be the small things.

Or sometimes it’s the main thing.

In all things…don’t take the church for granted.  May it be seen as a gift from God.
