“Put on the Whole Armor of God”
Law enforcement officers, military personnel, and firefighters usually have a routine when suiting up for work.
Each piece they put on is critical to their survival (yes, even their boots!).
To follow Jesus is to step out onto a battlefield every day. When you wake up, how do you prepare your mind and heart for the day ahead?
Paul commands you to put on God’s armor… and not just the pieces you prefer!
What you put on your mind and heart is critical to your survival.
The threat is real, even if you can’t see it.
Are you prepared to face the enemy?
Are you going to dress carefully for action today?
“Finally, be strong in the Lord
and in the strength of his might.
Put on the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities,
against the cosmic powers over this present darkness,
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:10-12 ESV
