A Prayer Answered During 2020 Chaos

2020 was a crazy year.

During all the unrest with the riots with George Floyd I started doing something regularly on Twitter: Pray for Antifa types and other criminals. I don’t mean protestors; I mean those who were breaking things and hurting people. I would pray for these people by name, or if no names were mentioned I would pray for them according to the details of what they have done.

Specifically, I pray for their salvation.

I want them to know Jesus. I want them to come to Christ as their Lord and Savior. I want their repentance to mean turning away from the violent secular doctrines of regeneration through the chaos (since the biblical doctrine of regeneration is through the Spirit!).

In a couple of weeks from now I will have a guest speaker for our church.

He was one of those guys that I prayed for. He wasn’t Antifa but at the height of the riots what he did freaked people out.

Now I didn’t know him then. I just saw the headlines of what he did. And I prayed. And I tweeted about it encouraging other Christians to pray for him.

I won’t go into all the details. But for a short while, what he did catch some attention, and news of what he did went viral on social media. His account of the event was crazier than what Twitter and LAPD said on Social Media. Being high on drugs he was not thinking clearly.

The story of that day was so crazy: I was surprised and glad he wasn’t killed by the police.

After the police arrested him and being in jail God broke him down. And he surrendered to God.

Today he’s an evangelist for Christ. God is using him to reach gangsters and others.

I thank God for saving him.

There’s a place to speak out against crime and other evils rampant after 2020.

But we must not forget to pray for sinners to come to Christ.

The political is downstream from the spiritual. So let us see things through spiritual lens and preach the Gospel and pray.

Lord God, save more souls for your Glory.
