“Being unforgiving is the Devil’s work”
2 Corinthians 2:10–11 (NET)
“10 If you forgive anyone for anything, I also forgive him—for indeed what I have forgiven (if I have forgiven anything) I did so for you in the presence of Christ, 11 so that we may not be exploited by Satan (for we are not ignorant of his schemes).”
When we don’t forgive and we choose instead to hold grudges (that we feel justified to have), we are standing on shaky ground and have forgotten the forgiveness we have received. More than that, we are being exploited (used) by the enemy to do his will.
Who wants to be used by the devil to do his will? Evidently a lot of people – unwittingly.
When we are encountering accusations and strife, we can be sure that the enemy is the source. Pray for those who oppose you or who oppose the church. And then stand in the grace of God:
Isaiah 54:17 (NIV)
“No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.”
