To understand salvation, it helps to read the Bible, knowing that the Bible was written by men who, through inspiration from God, wrote how God wanted us to live our lives… Every word is truth which has yet to be disproved…Turn in your Bible to…
2 Timothy 3:16-17…All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NKJV)
God saves us by His grace through faith…It’s not anything we do for God, like going to church every week, tithing everything we have, including our time and earnings… or by what we do for our church or others to help them…these things are called works and won’t get us past those pearly gates of heaven…Read…
Ephesians 2:8-9… For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. (NKJV)
How would you like to know that you’re going to heaven when you die… Not, “I think I’m going to heaven because I have been good”…Read…
1 John 5:13 … These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. (NKJV)
We are all sinners… Turn to…
Romans 3:23 … for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (NKJV)
Then read…
Romans 6:23… For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NKJV)
We are all going to hell unless we accept the free gift of Salvation offered by God…
Revelation 21:8…But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (NKJV)
This gift of salvation can only be accomplished by understanding and obeying the gospel of Christ… The apostle Paul tells us the consequences for failing to so, in…
2 Thessalonians… in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, (NKJV)
Now finally some good news…
Romans 5:8… But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Next, the most important passage in the Bible, when talking about salvation…
Romans 10: 9-10… that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
I would ask you to pray a short prayer, praying something like this…(The key here is to be praying with all of your heart, mind and soul)…Lord I know that I am a sinner … I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me so that my sins would be forgiven,…I believe that Jesus was buried, rose again in three days, and ascended into heaven…Lord I repent of my sins, and need Your help Lord… Please Lord, I need You to come into my heart now and change my life.…
It’s not the prayer God is looking for; it’s the real change in one’s heart from a heart of stone, to a heart filled with the love of Christ… With God’s grace and through His mercy, and with God’s timing…He will bring you into His family as one of His children… With salvation, you will know you will be in heaven with our Lord, after you draw your last breath here on earth…
