Psalm 16:11You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.  (NKJV)

Psalm 16 was the scripture to be read this morning (yesterday for you), before reading what the writer of today’s “Our Daily Bread” daily devotion was trying to convey… I usually find spending the time every morning to learn a little more about what God teaches us through His Word, to be well worth my time… But not everyone will read the same piece of scripture, and get the same meaning…  Sure, there is scripture that we can all agree on…  Here is one written by David…Psalm 25:8Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.  (NKJV)

If we consider ourselves Christians, I would have to believe that most all of us would agree with the fact that “God is good”; as this scripture indicates…  But there is scripture in the Bible that absolutely means two different things to people who believe in different doctrines… I write my thoughts on what the scripture means to me, and in no way am I trying to convince another Christian who disagrees with what I say, that they are wrong…

I found the overall message of the “ODB” devotion to say that God’s goodness is far better than the best material thing we could own…  Better than find gold, for example…Proverbs 8:19My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, And my revenue than choice silver.  (NKJV)

This scripture was written by the wise Solomon, who God made the wisest man of the times (maybe ever)…after Solomon prayed for wisdom to take over the kingdom for his father, King David…  Solomon was made the wealthiest man to ever live (bypassing today’s wealthiest man by far), because all Solomon humbly prayed to God for was wisdom to handle the task set before him…2 Chronicles 1:11-12

Solomon eventually had it all… Everything his heart desired (Ecclesiastes 2:10)… And yet in the end, he realized that life wasn’t about his riches…it was about the eternal blessings that God gives to His children…

The problem with the world is that they haven experienced the many blessings God gives His children, like the supernatural peace I so often write about described in…Philippians 4:6-7…  They are blinded by Satan (2 Corinthians 4:4), and just can’t see that there is a better way… The opening scripture talks about the “fullness of joy, andpleasures forevermore… It was also written by David, who was a man after God’s own heart…Acts 13:22.

If an unbeliever could only taste and see the life God has in store for those who come to Christ in faith alone…seeking Jesus to be their personal Lord, their Master, and their Savior… David lived his life for the Lord, and wrote this scripture as well…Psalm 34:8Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!  (NKJV)

God promises His children not only a better life here on earth…it is God’s promise of a room in His mansion in heaven when we die, that we should seek… Jesus tells His disciples (and us) about this reservation in heaven, in…John 14:1-3

If you have not understood and obeyed the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…the Bible reveals that you are headed for an eternity in a bad place… The apostle Paul reveals this biblical truth in…2 Thessalonians 1:8-9…  My purpose is not to scare anyone; but to allow God to use the truth from His Word to cut right to the very soul of those that haven’t yet tasted just how good being a Christian in God’s eyes really is…Hebrews 4:12-13

Heavenly Father, I for one am ever so thankful for all the blessings You continue to provide for my life…  I pray Father, that You would open the eyes…quicken the heart…and urge those that don’t know Your Son Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior…to seek Christ by understanding and obeying the gospel of Christ… I pray for Your grace to be showered upon all of us, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
