Ephesians 4:4-6… There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (NKJV)
There truly is only “one God and Father of all”… The apostle Paul is writing to the Ephesians; explaining to them that as Christians, they should be unified with a common bond as one body of Christ… Indeed, anyone who is considered a Christian in God’s eyes…is part of God’s family of forgiven sinners… There should be a unity among believers; a bond formed with love…with everyone looking out for their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ..
Paul tells the Ephesians to walk worthy of their calling, in verse one; and then tells them in verse two & three that they should walk…with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. …Ephesians 4:2-3… (NKJV)
I wrote yesterday about how the Christian should be seeking God’s wisdom, and the supernatural peace that can only come by being filled with the Holy Spirit…as the Christian does their best to remain righteous in God’s eyes… There can be no consistent un-confessed sins in the Christian’s life, to remain walking worthy of their gift of grace…
I know I am always interested in learning more about God and what the Bible teaches us; and am always eager to share what I have learned in the Bible with those around me that have the same interests… And as Christians, we are called to share our own testimony with those around us, of how God has changed our lives… But we should never try to force our beliefs on anyone… I know I have definitely had this problem in times past; but I am now really trying my best to share my faith with “gentleness”, showing love and compassion to those in need…
But I am saddened when I approach someone, and they tell me that they are going to heaven because they are a good person… Or when I speak of what the Bible clearly teaches us, and I get a response such as…“My God wouldn’t do this or do that”… Or the response that most saddens me, when I hear someone say to me…“You have your God, and I have mine”, and they have absolutely no interest in anything the Bible clearly reveals…
People, we must know what our one God teaches us through His inerrant Word… Any church that has man made doctrine that is not found anywhere in the Bible, is a church that cannot be teaching the truth that Jesus tells us we must know, to be set free from Satan’s bonds of sin… John 8:32… “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (NKJV)
This truth is centered on the gospel of Christ… And just like there is only one God…there is only one gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; which must be understood and obeyed before a sinner can be graced by God with the free gift of salvation… There is no other way, or church doctrine that will forgive sins…
I urge everyone to consider taking the time, without being stubborn or defensive…to keep an open mind when someone tells them out of love and concern…that what they are saying is clearly not found in the Bible… We as Christians should always be eager to learn more about our Lord… Unless you understand the truth that God teaches us in the Bible, you just might find yourself standing at the gates of heaven when it is too late to seek Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior…
Getting into heaven with sins forgiven by God, is not about all the self-righteous works that many churches teach for forgiveness of sins… It’s about doing the will of God… Jesus clearly warns us about this works based false faith, in…
Matthew 7:21-23… “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ ” (NKJV)
Heavenly Father, I pray that Your Word would open eyes and soften hearts… I pray Father, that You would draw un-believers to Yourself (John 6:44); and that everyone would be open and receptive to Your children, as we try to share the truth from Your Word with those around us that You still don’t know as Your redeemed children… I pray for lives to be changed and Your grace to abound…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
