1 Thessalonians 2:13… For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe. (NKJV)
God’s written Word, the Bible, was written by 40 or so humans who were inspired by God Himself through the Holy Spirit, to pen the 66 books of the Bible… The King James Bible (KJV) is most widely used today… The 3 most notable deviations of the KJV Bible are the NKJV, the NIV, and the NASB versions…
There are two primary pieces of scripture that reveal important truth about God’s inerrant Word…2 Peter 1:20-21… knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private
interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (NKJV)
The other bookmark piece of scripture revealing God’s purpose and the truth of God’s inspired Word, was written by the Apostle Paul, who wrote half of the N.T. …2 Timothy 3:16-17… All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NKJV)
I know people who don’t believe everything in the Bible as truth… Many believe that Jesus Christ walked the earth… That Jesus died on the cross, and rose again… And that Jesus ascended into heaven to be with His Father… These supernatural miracles are what the Christian faith is based upon… That heaven does exist (as does hell), and that those who believe in Jesus Christ (by understanding and obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ – see writing from 10/20/12), will be forgiven of their sins…and graced with salvation by God through saving faith alone in Jesus Christ…
If a Christian believes in the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven, why is it so hard to believe the rest of the miracles by God…like the Creation, and the parting of the Red Sea; and the other 37 or so miracles performed by Jesus, that are found in the Bible ?? Here is one of many sites of Jesus’ miracles found in the Bible… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracles_of_Jesus
I spent a day back on 11/07/2010, where I wrote about a web site that I found, that proved mathematically that God had to be the one who inspired every word of the Bible… For those who doubt this fact, I would urge you to open and read this link… https://godsmanforever.wordpress.com/2012/10/22/gods-group-thoughts-for-110710-the-bible-is-nothing-but-the-truth-proven-mathematically/
Today I write for all of those who are having a hard time reading and understanding the Bible… The Apostle Paul tells us about Spiritual wisdom; and why some people have it, and why some don’t, in…1 Corinthians 2:6-16… Here is the link for this scripture… http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1cor2:6-16&version=NKJV
Here is some of the pertinent scripture…
1 Corinthians 2:7… But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, (NKJV) …Paul tells us the truth from the Bible is a mystery to some, because they are not filled with the Holy Spirit…1 Corinthians 2:10… But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. (NKJV)
Paul goes on to write this, in…1 Corinthians 2:13-14… These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (NKJV)
The Bible refers to a “natural man”, as someone who is not a Christian… They are without the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit to help them understand scriptures… But I am living proof that someone can be a Christian; but if they take back control from the Holy Spirit, and are not Spirit filled…their own carnal mind will not help them in understanding God’s Word… This happened to me as a Christian, until I got on my knees and asked the Lord to take back control of my life…
Such was the case with the believers in the church of Corinth…1 Corinthians 3:1-3… And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; 3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? (NKJV)
The Apostle Paul calls them “brethren” in verse one, which means they are believers… But there was sin and divisions among them which kept them from maturing as Christians… Paul calls them “babes in Christ” and “carnal” Christians; meaning they were living lives according to their personal sinful desires, instead of living for the Lord as Spirit filled Christians (controlled by the Holy Spirit)…
The key to truly understanding scripture happens when a person is filled with (totally controlled by) the Holy Spirit…Ephesians 5:18-20… All sins must be confessed and repented of…1 John 1:9… When the Christian is then walking with the Lord as a Spirit filled Christian, the mysteries found in the Bible will be unraveled and understood with the help of the Holy Spirit…
Heavenly Father, I pray that everyone would understand that Spiritual wisdom comes from reading Your Word; and that it is the power of the Holy Spirit that will allow the Christian to understand the truth Your Word will reveal to them… Help all of Your children Lord, to walk worthy of the gift of grace You have bestowed upon them… I pray for the Spiritual filling of all of Your children, as they humble themselves and live for You…in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
