Mark 16:15-16… And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” (NKJV)
The opening scripture was Jesus’ last command to His disciples before ascending into heaven; and His command to those of us today that are believers because we are Christian’s in God’s eyes… True Christians have understood and obeyed the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ… We are Christian’s in God’s eyes, because God Himself has given us His grace through saving faith alone in Jesus Christ… Ephesians 2:8-9… For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. (NKJV)
Our primary responsibility as a Christian is to live a life that will glorify God is everything we say and do… There is much scripture directing Christians to do just that…Romans 15:5-6… Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, 6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (NKJV)
Christians won’t find a more direct piece of scripture reminding us to glorify God in every way, than this verse, in…1 Corinthians 10:31… Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (NKJV)
And as Christians, we are called to always be thankful to the Lord…Ephesians 5:20… giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, (NKJV)
Colossians 3:17… And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (NKJV)
As Christians, we must understand that everything we have is given to us by God…James 1:17… Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. (NKJV)
And if God, because He is sovereign, decides to bless His children with wealth…they must not forget to be thankful to the Lord for His abundance…1 Timothy 6:17… Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. (NKJV)
There are some who will say…“This is mine…I earned it…and I will spend it as I please !!” God reveals to us through His Word, that this wealth should not be hoarded; but shared with those less fortunate… We see this in the next 2 verses…1 Timothy 6:18-19… Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. (NKJV)
The Apostle John believes that those with wealth who don’t share with those in need, is certainly not living for the Lord…1 John 3:17… But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? (NKJV)
So if you’re a Christian, differentiate yourself from those who do not believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior… Their path will lead to destruction… Glorify the Lord in everything… Give the Lord thanks in the good times as well as the bad (Romans 8:28)… And share your abundance with those around you in need, if God has blessed you with wealth or extra time… You will be storing up treasures in heaven for yourself, when you pass on from this life…Matthew 6:19-21… And those in need today, will be blessed by your good works done for the Lord; as you glorify Him…
Matthew 5:16… Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (NKJV)
Heavenly Father Your Word is clear on how Your children should live… Help all of us Lord, to glorify Your name with our actions, and the abundance You promise to those that live in obedience to Your will and Your ways…Deuteronomy 28:1-14… I pray that Your Word would stir the hearts of those in need, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
