Ephesians 5:15-17See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.  (NKJV)

How many of you know where I dug up the title for today’s writing ??  I was listening to Dr. Charles Stanley on the way to breakfast this past Sunday morning, with my lovely wife Madeline…like I we do most every Sunday for years now… His audio sermon for last Sunday is titled…“Prayer: Our Time-Saver…Part 2”  Here is the link for the 20+ minute audio that moved me to write today’s thoughts…  http://itm.edgeboss.net/download/itm/audio/radio/2013/itm20130202.mp3

As I was sitting here contemplating what scripture to open today’s thoughts with…the lyrics to a song from 1969, sung by the “Guess Who”, popped into my brain…  Kinda sad, that the song is about a guy having no time for his girl any more…  He was too busy with better things to do… Here is one short stanza from the song… “No time left for you   On my way to better things   No time left for you    I found myself some wings   No time left for you   Distant roads are calling me   No time left for you.”  And here is the link for the old timers who want to go back in time…   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqeSUAlI5uI

Sadly, the world is to busy making money, or living the good life…or trying to keep up with the proverbial “Joneses” next door…to think twice about God…   They say they know God…   But even Satan and his demon friends knew who God was…James 2:19You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!  (NKJV)

But how many of us Christians, make time for God each and every day of our lives ??   Dr Charles Stanley’s message is about how to use prayer and the help of the Holy Spirit, to seek God’s help in managing our time…  How many of us Christians, use the excuse that we just don’t have the time for prayer…the time to read our Bible every day…and the time to worship the Lord throughout the day ??

I’m here to tell you, that as God’s children, God will give each and every one of us enough time to do His will every day… We should start our day with a prayer to the Lord, just like Jesus did to His Father (Mark 1:35)…thanking Him (1 Thessalonians 5:18) for the restful nights sleep…and the chance for another day of living to glorify Him; and then ask the Lord to be with us throughout the day…helping us make the right decisions that will effect our lives…  God will help the Christian who is paying attention to the leading of the Holy Spirit, to make right decisions that will keep them in the will of God…

Before you leave your home for work, or school, or whatever your day will consist of…God wants us to read the Bible…  Why else would Jesus tell us this, in…Matthew 4:4But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”

The start of a new day in our lives is a gift from God…  If you focus on Him through prayer…if you are fed spiritually through reading His Word…and if you are walking in the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-20)…listening for His direction in your life; I believe you will find yourself wasting less of the precious time God has given to all of us…   And by seeking the advice of the Lord before every critical decision is made…I believe we will not only make better decisions…we will be wasting less of the precious time we say we never have enough of…

The Lord wants us to come to Him for guidance…instead of our flesh believing that we know best… I will close with these words of wisdom, penned by the wise Solomon, in…Proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.  (NKJV)

Heavenly Father, I pray that each and every friend reading today’s thoughts, would be urged by You to listen to Your servant, Dr. Charles Stanley’s excellent audio sermon…  I pray Lord, that Your children would learn to remain humble and obedient to the urging of Holy Spirit, that You have given to all of Your redeemed children…  And I pray Lord, that You will help all of us find the time to live in Your will and Your ways…  I pray for this fullness of Christ, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
