Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  (NKJV)

I have a number of scripture verses that really give me absolute peace about my position in Christ…  I believe this just might be my favorite though…because it touches on so many important points in the life of a Christian…

Anxiety or fear is not what God wants for His children… But it is up to us as Christians, to decide how we want to live our lives…  We can choose to live for Christ, and be rewarded for our love and devotion to Him…  Or we can live like those who are not Christians; and allow Satan to wreck our godly joy, and destroy the peace of mind that comes with knowing that God is in control of our lives…

God tells us over and over throughout the Bible, not to worry…as long as He is our Father in heaven… The Apostle Paul pens this, in…

Romans 8:14-16For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again tofear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The SpiritHimself bears witness with our spirit that we arechildren of God,  (NKJV)

The Apostle Paul goes on to write this, in…Romans 8:31-32What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freelygive us all things?  (NKJV)

Our fear and our worries usually come from the unknown…  Jesus talks about not worrying, 3 times in…Matthew 6:25-33…  Here is the link… http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=mat6:25-33&version=NKJV   Worrying will not help us, as Jesus tells us, in…Matthew 6:27Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?”  (NKJV)

Jesus finishes this teaching on not worrying, with this, in…Matthew 6:33“But seek first the kingdom of God and Hisrighteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”  (NKJV)

Fear and worry have to be heavy on the heart of those who don’t know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior… (A person becomes a Christian, by being obedient to the gospel of Jesus Christ…see attachment at the end)…  With Satan as your father (John 8:44), and no protection from God…I would be worried silly too, if I still lived in the world, trying to fend for myself…  But as a child of God, the Christian has been set apart from this world of sin and evil, by their Father in heaven…and has become a citizen of heaven, for the rest of their remaining time on earth…Philippians 3:20

Worrying, if you are a Christian, should not be part of your daily life…  Any thought that produce worry, should be easily calmed…through prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving; as the Christian hands over their burden to the Lord…  God is bigger than any problems we think we have…  But we as Christians must be steadfast in our faith, that the Lord is sovereign (Proverbs 16:1-4)…and that His path for our lives is always  the right path…Proverbs 3:5-6

Jesus’ half brother James, pens this, in…James 1:6-8…  But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a doubleminded man, unstable in all his ways.  (NKJV)

And the writer of Hebrews pens this about wavering, in…Hebrews 10:22-23  let us draw near with a trueheart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (NKJV)

It is indeed, the Christian, whose heart is filled with the love of Christ…who is walking in sweet fellowship with the Lord, as a Spirit filled Christian (Ephesians 5:18-20)…is the one who will be living with the peace of God, which surpassesall understanding…  This absolute peace from God, is only possible…when God is in control of our lives…  Christians must humbly submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit which God has given to allof His children, to combat fear and anxiety…   We must be obedient God’s will and God’s ways…as we place our full faith and trust in Him…knowing that God always does what is best for His childrenRomans 8:28

Here is an excellent series of scripture verses, written by the wise Solomon…to contrast the fool, with the Christian living a righteous life for the Lord…Proverbs 11-28…  Here is the link…  http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=prov%2012:11-28&version=NKJV

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your Word today would urge everyone who is not now living their lives in Your will, to examine themselves…and to seek Christ as their own personal Lord and Savior with all of their heart, their mind, and their soul…Matthew 22:36-38…   I pray that all of us can learn to not walk as a fool…but as Your child who is walking in the fullness of the Spirit…Galatians 5:16…  I pray for this fullness of Christ for all of us, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…

Blessings in Christ, bruce r mills
