Proverbs 14:12… There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. (NKJV)
Every human being is born with a natural sin nature, ever since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden apple in the Garden of Eden…Genesis 2:17… “but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evilyou shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (NKJV)
Eve was deceived by the serpent (Satan), when he convinced her that it was OK to eat of this delicious looking forbidden apple…Genesis 3:6… From that time forward…humans have been born with the tendency to want to sin… The temptations that Satan uses to deceive us into sinning, have been tried and mastered over these past thousands of years…
And it’s not only Satin’s temptations we have to be worried about…it’s our own flesh that has the natural tendency to want, what is not good for us… We are all born blinded to seeing godly things, the way God wants’ us to see them… We are spiritually dead in our trespasses…Ephesians 2:4-5… But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), (NKJV)
2 Corinthians 4:3-4… But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. (NKJV)
Here is an excellent video, tied right to this scripture; that is backed up by several more scripture verses for those who are being urged (possibly by God), to spend a few minutes watching this video… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9DMD2KVeyU
God gives all of us a conscience, to help us make the right decisions in life… But what seems right to us, and perfectly OK to do…is, as the opening scripture reveals…typically not God’s way… God tells us this Himself, in…Isaiah 55:8-9… “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” (NKJV)
Jesus gives all of us a warning, in His “Sermon on the Mount”…at the beginning of His public ministry, in…Matthew chapters 5, 6, & 7… Jesus tells us about the “narrow gate” we must find…in order to be enlightened about the truth anyone wanting to get into heaven must understand…John 8:32… Unfortunately, most people miss this “narrow gate”, because they are blinded by Satan and their own selfish desires, that keep them from seeing “the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ”…
Here is Jesus’ warning, in…Matthew 7:13-14… “Enter by the narrowgate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (NKJV)
I say above, that most people miss finding this narrow gate, because Jesus Himself says…“there are few who find it”
This “broad” way, Jesus is speaking about, which “leads to destruction”…is the way of the world… This mentality of seeking “pleasure and prosperity”, as being the ultimate goal in life…is a lie straight from hell… Unfortunately this mindset is inbred into each and every one of us, from birth… I lived this life of deception and lies for 52 years…falsely believing in my mind that I was a Christian… But there had been no change in my heart or my soul by God…until by His grace, He saved me..
Becoming a Christian in God’s eyes, involves understanding and obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…
I wrote about this tragic mistake of not understanding and obeying the gospel of Jesus Christ, in the last 2 days of writing… You can go back and read my past writing, by going to www.Godsmanforever.wordpress.com
There are many reasons for falsely believing we are a Christian, when God hasn’t graced us with salvation… But unless God draws us to Himself (John 6:44), and un-blinds us to the need to seek Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior (through obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ)…we will indeed, die in our sins…John 8:24…
The “death”, the opening scripture speaks of, is not our mortal death…it is the second death, that unredeemed sinners will suffer for an eternity, if they don’t become a Christian in God’s eyes, before they die their first mortal death…Revelation 20:14-15…
Here is the link to an excellent blog, titled… “What is the Second Death”…with much Bible scripture to support the writing… http://mcdonaldroad.org/bible/study/second-d.htm
All of us from birth, are headed for this second death, to be separated from the Lord for an eternity when we die… It is only those that find the “narrow gate” that Jesus warns us to look for, “which leads to life”…that will provide eternal “life” in heaven, when we pass on from this world…
Heavenly Father, I pray that You would open the eyes of those in need, as You draw them to Yourself…John 6:44… Help them to find the “narrow gate” that Your Son Jesus tells us about…by seeking Jesus to become their personal Lord and Savior; through a personal relationship established by understanding and obeying the gospel of Your Son Jesus Christ… I pray for this fullness of Christ for all of us, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…Amen…
Blessings in Christ, bruce r mills
P.S. Here is a link for this most important days writing, about how God’s grace is received to become a Christian in God’s eyes; through understanding and obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, after first being drawn in by God…John 6:44…
