1 Corinthians 10:31… Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (NKJV)
I noted this opening scripture yesterday, when I was stressing the important point that Christians, who truly understand what Jesus Christ has done for them at the cross…should lovingly and passionately desire to please God, by glorifying Him in all that they say and do…
My writing for yesterday was titled…“Keep a Clean House”; and my analogy of sins residing with-in the heart of the Christian, being equivalent to the Christian going into their church and dumping a bunch of garbage onto the floor, is still stuck in my mind… So much so, that I was led to further explore what un-confessed sin in Christian’s life will do to their quality of life…
My offensive analogy, comparing garbage to sins, came after I posted the following scripture written by the Apostle Paul, in…
1 Corinthians 6:19-20… Or do you notknow that your body is the temple of the HolySpirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorifyGod in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. (NKJV)
As Christians, God has changed our mortal sin filled body into a temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell in…John 14:26… The Apostle Paul penned this scripture after warning the Corinthians to flee from sexual immorality, in…1 Corinthians 6:18…any sin that the Christian or the nonbeliever is harboring in their heart, is offensive to the Lord God…
For the unredeemed sinner, their sins will separate them from God…Isaiah 59:2… But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. (NKJV) And if the sinner never becomes a Christian in God’s eyes, they will die in their sins…John 8:24…and be separated from God for an eternity…
The Apostle Paul pens this most horrifying, and eye opening scripture…about those who die, not knowing the Lord as their personal Savior, in…2 Thessalonians 1:8-9… in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do notobey the gospelof our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlastingdestruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, (NKJV) (See link at the end for more information on the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, to become a Christian in God’s eyes)
For the Christian who is living with continuous un-confessed sins, I have already spent time yesterday, writing about God’s promise to chastise and even scourge the ones He loves…trying to bring them back into submission to the leading of the Holy Spirit…Hebrews 4:5b-8… But living with un-confessed sins as a Christian, will also keep the less than Spirit filled Christian from receiving God’s richest blessings…

Walking in sweet fellowship with the Lord, as a Spirit filled Christian who is in an almost continuous state of control by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-20)…will be blessed by God with the supernatural love of Christ which passes our mortal knowledge…Ephesians 3:19-20…the fullness of joy when the Christian is not harboring any un-confessed sins (1 John 1:9)… John 15:11…&…Jude 1:24…and a God given supernatural peace, that goes beyond our mortal understanding…Philippians 4:6-7…that God wants for all of His obedient children…
Friends, if you have been graced by God with the fullness of Christ; then you are a Christian in God’s eyes, and you have indeed “tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit”…Hebrews 6:4b-5… There should be no doubt that you were indwelt with the Holy Spirit, because He would have told your spirit that you were indeed a child of God…
Romans 8:15-16… For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The SpiritHimself bears witness with ourspirit that we arechildren of God, (NKJV)
But anyone who believes they are a Christian, but cannot seem to break the chains of bondage Satan will use to keep hold of those still living in the world of sin and shame…they must get down on their knees and plead for the Lord’s mercy; as they confess their sins…repent of their sins…and turn from their sins to the Lord, through obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit… A prayer based upon the following penned scripture by the Apostle John, should be made in earnest to the Lord…
1 John 1:9… If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and tocleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJV)
God’s grace for the Christian is unending…and is never held back from His sinning children who sincerely seek to again become righteous in His sight… There will be a lifelong struggle between the Christian’s flesh and the Holy Spirit… But when the Christian submits their lives again to the Lord…the power of the Holy Spirit should prevail…
Galatians 5:16-17… I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the fleshlusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. (NKJV)
Heavenly Father, I pray that Your Word would work in the hearts of both the un-redeemed sinner, and the Christian who has fallen into unrighteousness with un-confessed sins… I pray Lord, that all of us could experience the fullness of Christ…that will provide Your richest blessings… I pray for this state of Spiritual richness for all of us, in Jesus’ most precious name and for His sake…
Blessings in Christ, bruce r mills
