“Disgracing Grace”
“You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.” Galatians 5:4
The amazing grace of God is the regenerator of every believer. It is the unmerited favor of God that calls us, saves us, sustains us, and that will see us safely through the turmoil of life until we are safely at home in heaven with Jesus.
Throughout the Old Testament we hear of people finding grace in the sight of the Lord. God imparted His special favor upon Noah, Moses, and all the heroes of the faith that they might accomplish His purposes through them.
God’s unmerited favor that was merited for us by Jesus Christ and His death on the cross for our sins must never be disgraced.
We must never disgrace the grace of God by using it as a license to sin rather than a license to live lives fully pleasing to God and fruitful in every good work.
When we choose to believe that we earn our salvation by our own strength and reason we disgrace the grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to our peril.
When we go through life fearful and afraid instead of safe and secure in our faith in Jesus Christ we are disgracing the grace of God.
When we harden our hearts and willfully and deliberately let unconfessed and unrepented sins beset us, we are disgracing the grace of God.
God has promised all who believe His all sufficient grace for our every need. When we embrace it by faith instead of disgrace it by disobedience and unbelief we are going to experience the joy of life lived in the fullness of Christ
Father may I ever embrace the fullness of your grace through faith in Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen
